You know what though? The same thing happened last year. So I don't feel any worse for Cassel than I felt for Ponder. I just wish we could get things going in the right direction. It seems like the defense is much improved this season, and I hope as the season goes, the entire team continues to improve.

P.S - If you were watching this game today, thinking "I told you so", shame on you.
Nah... just shame on anyone who was
happier to see the loss so they could think that. Frankly, I think there were probably some fans out there who needed this cold splash of reality. I thought "I told you so" during the game but I would have preferred to have been thinking 'Look at the way the Vikings are dominating the Patriots". It just didn't work out that way.
I wish the Vikings could get things going in the right direction too and I think they will but it's going to take time.

I'm going to be completely honest. I was hoping for MC to throw his 4th pick - AFTER IT WAS 30-7............. AND THE GAME WAS OVER.
The first three I was just disgusted, and so let down. After week 1 I was starting to believe in MC with Norv. In no way do I ever hope for losses, but I am hoping that the inevitable comes sooner rather than later. I don't think I'm a vile Viking's fan, deep in the 4th when the W is out of reach, to hope for MC to throw just one more pick to get the ball rolling a bit quicker.
Maybe I am.. But gosh I have nothing but High hopes for this team if and when we do make the switch..

Zimmer said Cassell is starting next week against the Saints. The Teddy Now crowd will have to wait a little longer.

I don't think anyone here was doing that.

Again, I in NO WAY:
EVER DESIRE for the Vikings to lose, no matter what my personal opinions and perspectives are.
That said, I made a prediction, and I've stated my position before, and I will hold firm to those views.
This is the ENTIRE REASON WHY I have these views (Start Ted now) - So we don't have abysmal 4-INT Performances by our QB....
AND LOSE GAMES
It is my belief that Ted will handle situations better, and it is for this reason and this reason alone that I advocate my perspective.
At the end of the day, it is my opinion that NONE of us we're gloating today.... Some of us just weren't as surprised..

Ted starts because Cassel is what he is. Not an adequate NFL starter.

Why the rush to see Teddy behind this shambles of an Oline we have? I think one of the reasons Ponder sucked was, he wasn't ready to play, made some mistakes, and couldn't get over them. I don't want that to happen to Teddy. That being said, if Cassel sucks next week, I think we see Teddy.

I kind of think that we should have let Teddy play at the end of the rams game. I mean we were up 27-3 with under 6 mins left and there was no way we were going to lose the game. We could have let him get a series or two in an actual NFL game and get some experience so that when he does get called to start he wouldn't be as nervous. I mean even if we called three straight run plays its still useful NFL experience. Also think that we should of let him play at the end of the Patriots game. Cassel looked absolutely horrible and there was no way that we were going to come back and win the game, so we might as well let teddy play. Guys like Luck, Wilson, Newton, Dalton, etc. all were drafted by teams that were worse than the vikings are now and they are all leading their team to the playoffs and superbowl titles. If Cassel has one more 3int game I say we start teddy the rest of the season, plain and simple.

The problem is, you don't want your rookie, the future of the Vikings, first start to be one like he would have gotten in the 4th quarter. Unless they were just going to let him hand the ball of.

If we're 1-4 or 2-3 going into week 6 with a long week from the Thursday night game with Cassel still struggling, I think Teddy gets the start at home against Detroit.

losing peterson is obviously a terrible blow, but if the offensive line plays like they did today why would anyone want to put teddy out there under those conditions? by the looks of things, our run game was (today) and for all intents and purposes looks to be basically non existent the rest of the year. you guys are saying 2 and 3 as a start i can't see any scenario in which we win next week. the funny part is i thought our o line looked well in the preseason, but i knew last week was an anomaly the rams might be the worst team in the nfl.

Agree to disagree - this is the part I hate about this board. I feel bad for everyone all the time, because someone is always rubbing people's nose in it, and trying to pile on. I felt that way every time I saw a Ponder supporter getting flamed last season, and I feel the same now that those same people are turning around and piling on the other group. It's why I tend to NOT take a definitive side on most players, issues, etc. I know someone will always be lurking waiting for the fall, so they can make it known that they were 'right'. It's just not enjoyable a lot of the time. Everyone has an opinion, and I realize there will always be debate on a message board. I embrace that. I just don't like the shots being taken from both sides of every issue and argument. Makes me want to take a hiatus from this board.
