I think you can chalk up his play to some jitters. If not, he accuracy is not better than Ponder. Earholes, back shoulder, and Mcwormburner throws. Looked like he was playing a little tight. We shall see. OTA's, workouts, and even training camp are so much different than actual game play. Many factors contribute to success of a team and to its QB so you cannot hang it all on one game or preseason.
TB has a LONG way to go. How long it takes him to get there is up to him and the coaches. Andrew Luck or Russell Wilson he is not at this juncture.

Tom Powers: Vikings may be in for an orderly transition at quarterback
It's fairly clear that Teddy Bridgewater is heir to Daunte Culpepper's throne, which has long remained vacant as the Vikings have searched fruitlessly for a long-term, high-caliber performer at the quarterback position.

It's also clear that Matt Cassel will be keeping that seat warm until Bridgewater is ready to begin his reign. Thus begins what should be an interesting relationship between veteran and rookie.

Bridgewater is the people's choice. All he has to do is show up and everyone's heart begins to flutter. The crowd at TCF Bank Stadium was cheering and stomping for him Friday night before he even stepped onto the field. Vikings fans consider him payback for suffering through the likes of Tarvaris Jackson, Christian Ponder and Josh Freeman.

Nothing like setting him up to disappoint. I want Teddy to do well too, but he isn't "my choice" my heart wasn't a-flutter and I am one of " the people". Teddy isn't the choice he is wait-and-see. My choice is the QB who gives us the best chance to win, which isn't Teddy just yet.

This was one of my favorite things about the other night. Not just the support for Teddy, but the overall support for the team. For preseason, people were really into it. That's always nice.

Also, the fans were still bringin' the noise. I'm curious to find out how it compares to the Metrodome. I'll know soon enough! :smilevike:

It was certainly refreshing to see the Vikings playing a home game outdoors. :)

lets not forget here, his first play was for 22 yards and then it was negated. also, he had 2 or 3 balls that were easily catchable and yet were dropped. i don't think the stats were indicative of this performance at all.

I think will start at lest half the season; based on what I saw, from game one.

Oh yeah? You should go to that Vikings and Bears game on Dec. 28th then. :P Dress warm.

I went to that last game versus the Lions last year, and that was inside and I still about froze to death. I'm sure Mondry did, too. He just won't admit to that, though, because he's a tough guy. lol. Nah, it was ridiculously cold. Just the small walk to the Dome had me frozen. I love the Vikings, but I don't know how much I'd enjoy a game like that outdoors. I imagine I'd have to put too much focus into staying warm instead of the actual game! What fun is that? Maybe I'm just not a true Viking...lol jk. I'd probably still go. I just couldn't convince anyone to go with me! They are wusses. They are scared of November games. Now, that is sad!

I'm going to see the Vikes play the Patriots, Lions, and Packers. Outdoor football will be pretty new for me. I hope I like it. I've only been to one outdoor game, and that was the Titans and Ravens in Baltimore. I've never seen the Vikings play outdoors, though. Should be interesting! I know I'll miss the Dome, though. Heck, I miss the dump already. It's sad that it's just a big hole in the ground. Or was that what it always was?

I've been to games here in Chicago at that time of year. You can stay pretty warm if you prepare yourself but it's certainly less fun to sit and watch a game in frigid conditions.

However, for most of the season, I'd much rather see a game outdoors. I think you'll love the experience and you have a good shot at getting good football weather for all 3 games (although the Packers game could potentially be a cold one).

One trick for watching a game outdoors in cold weather: get a piece of cardboard to put under your feet. It insulates them from the cold concrete that's usually used in stadiums. It's also a good idea to get those little hand warmer packs and put them in your gloves and shoes. They'll last for the duration of a game and they make a difference.

When does a second "unit" EVER see the field as a unit except in preseason and maybe garbage time in week 17? This isn't hockey, they don't change lines.
I meant that most of those players won't be seeing the field much, and hopefully, at all.

I hope and believe in T Bridgewater as the future of the Vikings, but for now, whether it's 1, 2 or 3 years, I'm pulling for Cassel! If he gets the starting job, I believe he'll have a set of coaches that will be behind him. The receivers already are, and were last year!

The thing I noticed about Cassell form day one is that the team seems to believe in him. He has the respect and faith of the offense that ponder never had. The offense responds to cassell and it shows in their play. I look at that rather than stats.

Too bad few fans share the belief, respect and faith in him. It's more likely than not that he will be our QB this year. It would be nice to have fans supporting him, instead of yet another year of QB hate even with whatshisname out of contention.
