It should go without saying that Harvin's situation was completely different. The biggest reasons being that Harvin was injury prone and that he wasn't happy playing for the Vikings. Both make it easier to part with a player, and while the former makes it more difficult to engineer a trade, the latter usually makes your team better by removing a malcontent from the locker room.

As for the cowboys, they're already going to be something like 25 million over the cap next year which means they'll be cutting players, not trading the most expensive running back in the league... Maybe if they give us Demarcus Ware and Dez Bryant in the trade hahahahah.
