People grieve differently and sometimes that's done by burying yourself in your work or being surrounded by coaches and teammates. If the reports are true, his son is brain dead, he's essentially already gone. It's a terrible situation in which I don't think one should really judge unless they've gone through the exact same situation themselves.

that's my take too. I lost my brother in '94 and was devastated. and I went camping the same day I found out. then I went on another trip the day of the funeral. sure, it may have seemed odd to some but I didn't give a crap. it's how I decided to grieve and no one was going to judge me and tell me it was the wrong thing to do.

Why? Just because one you think we should stop talking about it? What pedestal are you on that because you feel we shouldn't talk about this situation the thread should be locked?
I don't see any attacks on AD, the Vikings, or hell not even the suspect. There are many dozens of other threads on this board that shoudl be locked for personal attacks and other garbage, but this is about the furthest you can get from all that. Stop reading the damn board if you don't like it. I'm sure your 132 posts will really be missed.

Reading comprehension is clearly not your strong suit.
If you attempt to read very slowly and attempt to comprehend what I said you will note that I was directing my comment to the guy who said, Quote: "I'm warped. All I could think of was offensive players having great games when things like this happen to them. Turn those lemons into lemonade and get us 200/2 TD!"
I felt that it was a pretty awful thing to say in light of the current situation.
I then went on to say that
if this turned out to be Adrian's son, and
if this little boy was laying in a hospital bed alive and in critical condition on Sunday morning, that I would lose respect for a father that chose to leave his little boys bed side to play in a football game. If you read further you would note that I indicated I believe Adrian to be a good man and believe that he would do the right thing. Nowhere did I say anything about "what a scumbag Adrian Peterson" is. Quite the contrary. And if you bothered to read and comprehend my posts you wouldn't have to embarrass yourself with your misguided and ill informed posts.
What I was saying, in a nutshell, is that people hoping that this horrible incident somehow spurs our team to Victory or motivates Adrian to play well is very misguided. That all I hope for is the health of this little boy and healing for this hurt family and that Adrian knows that his fans are sending well wishes and prayers, Get it?

I understand this completely. I did the same when my father passed away.
How one should grieve the death of a loved one has not been discussed here in any way because as far as we know, there has been no death of a loved one. The discussion was regarding the report that Adrian's son may possibly be in a hospital in critical condition.

yes I understood what you were saying. there's a huge difference imo between a person who has already passed and a person in critical condition. that said, what if this little boy was on life support for weeks and months? who is to say how long the father "should" be at his bedside. and if there was absolutely nothing AD could do by being there....i'm not sure that going back to work isn't the right thing to do?

You may have understood my point but clearly GreenBayFavreFan didn't. I am a huge fan of Adrian and believe him to be a good man. I am a father to a young child as well and can not imagine the pain that he is suffering. If the report that this child is on life support with no brain activity is correct then this has become every parents worst nightmare. It leaves me with a lump in my throat and makes me want to run home, hug my child and be thankful for my blessings.

All of the facts here are still very sketchy but the latest news indicates that he may have not even been aware of this child until very recently
It seems out of character to me that a man like Adrian, who seems like a good and God fearing man, would have multiple children with multiple women, some of whom he has no knowledge of nor relationship with.
