Smith's stock hasn't fallen that fast with everybody. I'm still seeing him listed as a top 5 or top 10 pick in most mock drafts.

I remember a couple years ago the PFT mock draft also had Cam Newton falling to the Vikes at #12 and we saw how that played out. As many said, mock drafts change so much and are basically conversation fodder for the months in between the end of the previous season to the draft. No mock drafts are completely accurate but especially ones this far out should be taken with a relative grain of salt. And even though I think PFT is interesting to read, much of what is said on there is also to be taken with a grain of salt.

I see the same thing. Even if Smith's stock has fallen, I seriously doubt that he makes it out of R1. Would the Vikings take him? I don't think so. They seem focused on this being a make or break year for Ponder.

As for Cordarrelle Patterson, I see no way the Vikings pass on the kid if he falls to them, which I seriously doubt will happen.

I have no idea what the Vikings want to do at MLB. There are four potential picks they might choose and none of them would surprise me.

I personally don't see why you would draft a QB over a WR this draft. If this is a make or break year for ponder, give him more weapons. Don't bring in a NEW quarterback to challenge for the job with the same weakness at WR. If ponder doesnt work out than draft a new one next year, or the following with your much more stable WR core at the ready.

Tavon Austin=Percy Harvin with out the "headaches" and attitude. This kid is the closest thing to Harvin and he is four years younger and just as fast and explosive. What a great move to get Austin in the draft with the Harvin pick (plus a 7th and 3rd next year) and getting Jennings

All I know is that somewhere in the mid rounds we need to pick up Tyrann Mathieu. Get him and I will be happy for the rest of the draft

Why in god's name after the mess we just had with a serial nut job would we want to bring in another future head ache drug addict, whose skill set would be much better off in a different system?

I assume because he's got a cool nick name and weird hair?

Why though? Our CBs are pretty bad but our WR core is by far worse. I believe if Tavon Austin falls to us we should take him. He would fill the harvin void and with Jennings equals a better a deeper core than last year.. However if Tavon Austin is taken by our first pick witch I believe he will be, take the best Deep Threat WR like allen. The next pick should be used on the best available CB/DT/LB

Marijuana is not a bad drug. It's not like the kid is on meth or crack. It's a phase he can get out of once he realizes it can cost him his NFL job. Mathieu is still a good player. He has great ball instincts and a playmaker on defense. I wish Winfield was still here then he could mentor Mathieu because they are both small CBs. I say taking him in the 4th - 6th round sounds reasonable. Any higher would be a reach..

I have a good feeling about Mathieu. He just has that knack for finding the football and making plays.

I'm sure 80% of the NFL smokes weed. Assumption or not, I don't think it's too big a deal. Can he ball?...Yes. Let Allen straighten the rest out.

Very doubtful.

I'm not saying either of you are wrong but I wouldn't doubt it. A lot of players probably do smoke weed and it's easy to smoke weed and not get caught. You just have to be smart with it. Mathieu got busted after they smelled the odor his house and shockingly gave the officers the consent to search his apartment. That's a no-no.

First off, you never let an officer search your house unless he has a warrant. And ask them what the warrant is for if you have one
Two, if you smoke let some windows up or have a hot shower running near you so the steam can catch the smoke. Dont have the place smelling like dope.

It's very easy way to get away with smoking weed, that's why most players dont get caught. The only time I dont recommend smoking is if you want a job because you never know when they might conduct a random drug test. But most jobs wont give random drug tests unless they suspect one of their employers have been smoking.

I know this is off-topic but Im just saying. I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of the NFL did drugs.

James, you know far too much on this topic. That's all I'm gonna say. lol

80% is high--no pun intended. With so much to lose, and a lot of these guys being so health conscious, I still highly, highly doubt it.

Believe it or not--there are people who don't need drugs to cope. We do exist. lol.

The NFL does conduct random drug tests. It's extremely unlikely that 80% of NFL players smoke weed.
