TB is winning me over week after week , I need to stop doubting
LETS GO VIKINGS !

Re: Redskins @ Vikings Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 9
Honestly, I'd me more worried about a run back than anything. It'd be nice to pin them inside their 10, but a touchback in that situation is not the end of the world. Negates a runback and the skins have to go 80 yards in one play, eliminating an end zone hail mary situation

Re: Redskins @ Vikings Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 9
Have they won a game you've attended @ soldier field? I recall that streak being rather long.Mothman wrote:Well, it took them a year and a half but the Vikes finally got back-to-back wins again! Well done. I love the resiliency they showed today after missing some big opportunities early. They took every punch the Redskins delivered and then punched back. It's a shame they couldn't quite close out that Buffalo game or they'd be at .500 right now. Still, the Bears have struggled lately so that's going to be a winnable game and I'll be there so they'd better win it. at 4-5, with 7 weeks left, this team can still get themselves into the playoff mix.
From what I saw and heard, Floyd was amazing today. He had a strong game last week too. Between him and Griffen, we may be seeing a dominant right side of the DL developing...

As much as some were shredding Teddy in the beginning of this game, one thing I have to give him is he is pretty clutch. He's as calm as they come down the stretch when the game is on the line. Also, our offensive line played much better today. Floyd and Barr are animals. Very encouraging win

Honestly, I about lost it when I saw the flag come up on the 4th down play. Luckily, it was off-setting.
Holy heck, what a game. I was so nervous heading down the stretch. IMO, the refs in this one were absolutely disgusting. What an embarrassment of a display by the refs.
We won. Asiata is a fantasy vulture. I feel bad for Jerrick hahahahaha. Asiata sure can punch it in when it counts though - I have a lot of respect for his ability to do so. Everson Griffen is a beast. Same with Anthony Barr. Floyd looks like he finally starting to come on - which is absolutely great.

With the Mckinnon/Asiata combo, we don't have to take a high draft pick at RB next year.

Upalpable unfair act. Can award a TD for that penalty.Rieux wrote: Really? I've never heard of that rule. (Which doesn't mean you're wrong.) Weird.

This team is so young but has so much fight in it, I love it! They're growing before our very eyes and the three that stood out the most to me today were Floyd, Griffen, and Bridgewater. Floyd and Griffen are just tearing it up and giving opposing O-linemen fits. Floyd got penetration a number of times and also a sack, really bogging down the middle too. Griffen just runs down players half his size it's amazing to me to see such a big dude that freaking fast! When you add Anthony Barr to these two, you see a massive SPEED upgrade from the 3 guys they replaced and we're flying around on defense now.
Bridgewater, well I was really pissed after he missed those open deep throws but he won me back over throughout the game. I really like seeing him complete those 15ish yard throws that are towards the sideline. They're really more like 20 yard throws going diagonally like that but he's so accurate on those and I love seeing him drop them in there. At 62% completion rate that's pretty good. Once he figures out the touch on those deep passes the sky's the limit.

Huh? Of course it would help! Five more yards gives Locke a substantially better shot at dropping the kick inside the 20!Texas Vike wrote: One less second and save the TO? Pretty minimal. Unless having 5 more yards to work with on the punt would help too.
And wait—one second less on the clock is no big deal? Do we remember how much time was on the clock two weeks ago when Kyle Orton threw the winning touchdown pass in Buffalo?
And a timeout makes "no difference"? Weren't some of us bemoaning the fact that Zimmer didn't call a timeout earlier in that Buffalo drive?
So—it seems to me that five yards more territory for Locke, 1-2 more seconds off the clock, and a timeout are all valuable. And the risk/cost of taking a delay penalty are... absolutely nothing. So it seems to me a pretty good idea.
Meanwhile, I'm looking for the penalty me4get mentioned upthread. I'm not seeing it anywhere in the rulebook. (I'm also not sure what it would mean if the Vikings "couldn't" take such a penalty. Would they just not lose the five yards? Would an unsportsmanlike-conduct 15 yards get tacked on? Surely the game clock would still wind down until the play clock ran out—so the Vikes would gain two out of the three benefits to the delay strategy right there.)

You can usually find a solid nickel corner in the mid-rounds, which seems to be the biggest issue with the defense right now. Maybe Captain turns it around but he seems to be the weak link. Some might argue safety, I know Blanton isn' that popular, but I don't see him making a whole lot of mistakes to be honest. He did a good job of saving a TD by catching Jackson and I don't recall any missed tackles.PurpleKoolaid wrote:With the Mckinnon/Asiata combo, we don't have to take a high draft pick at RB next year.
That being said, the Vikings could look to OL or mike LB early in the draft. I agree that RB looks like less of a priority now especially with AD's future still up in the air.

i thought they were finally going to win there again last year but alas...

That's ridiculous. Do you have any actual rulebook basis for that notion, or are you trolling?me4get wrote:Upalpable unfair act. Can award a TD for that penalty.

We won literally because we scored more points than the redskins
