According to this story, Brantley's accuser sought a settlement, which he rejected. This could well be a simple shakedown. At what point is a team willing to bet on that being the case in order to get one of the best 3-techs in the draft?

Re: 2017 draft thread
Eh, yesterday was just kinda meh for me.
There is no debating Dalvin Cook was the BPA in the entire second round yesterday. So, based on sheer ability, we got an absolute steal (even though we had to trade up). However, I am just 'meh' on Dalvin Cook. His off the field concerns me. Hopefully, he is maturing and Minnesota is just the place he needs to find better influences in life. He needs to be taught ball security too.
I still don't absolutely love trading up for Pat Elflien when Dan Feeney was the next pick right after we did so. Fenney is the superior prospect. It's a bit of a head scratcher, but clearly Minnesota feels Elfein is the better player. I am glad we at least got an offensive lineman who could start day one.
Today, I hope we take Desmond right away. It is UNBELIEVABLE to me how he continues to be get passed on for inferior defensive back prospects. I would love to take a swing on Julien Davenport and/or Roderick Johnson at tackle. Also, I would love George (Kittle) and Jaleel Johnson on this team... but that is just my Hawkeye roots talking

Re: 2017 draft thread
Bucky Hodges would be a nice weapon to groom. Jaleel Johnson would fill a need and might give us the most bang for the buck. I think if they stand pat and make a selection w/ the 2nd pick of the 4th I'd go for Dorian Johnson.fiestavike wrote:Some of the most interesting prospects left in my view.

Forgot Jalen Myrick! Interested in him too.Texas Vike wrote: Bucky Hodges would be a nice weapon to groom. Jaleel Johnson would fill a need and might give us the most bang for the buck. I think if they stand pat and make a selection w/ the 2nd pick of the 4th I'd go for Dorian Johnson.
Hodges fits the MO I think the vikings should be looking for with skill positions now. Guys who pose a mismatch problem. 6'7 WR who can get up the slot or line up for fades against Smaller CBs. Cohen would be drafted more as a slot WR. So shifty its insane. He's tiny but I love what he could do for the Vikings.

Re: 2017 draft thread
I am encouraged by the movement on building a real OL.
We need ONE MORE O-lineman of quality added. At that point we will have new talent across the line and the Old Guard that is remaining (pardon the pun) is relegated to back up duty which is all they are (barely) capable of.

Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole reports that the bar owner said the woman involved "repeatedly" hit Brantley in the chest and arms, while a security guard present also said she punched him in the mouth. The GPD incident report says the woman pushed Brantley, who then retaliated with a punch.
However, the security guard added that the woman was never knocked unconscious and Brantley did not punch her, only pushed her away.
This story is starting to look shaky. Maybe this could be the pick if someone doesn't trade in front to grab him.Cole notes that the two witnesses in question are the woman's "roommate and a high school buddy of the roommate."

Re: 2017 draft thread
I don't think he'll have legal trouble with this case. The question is the optics after just selecting Cook. Brantley would be a great pick, but the Packers are supposedly really interested in him too.nightowl wrote: Here's some more on this story .

Packers are also intrested in Hodges to. I guess we will take who is leftover.
I would also be happy with Dorian Johnson .

@eric_j_thompson Jaleel Johnson and Pat Elflein are both former high school wrestlers. Physicality obviously a big point of emphasis for #Vikings.

Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.
Including now, HOF WR #80 Cris Carter

Dorian Johnson off the board. Desmond King still there...
