I'd prefer to pass on that one. It would be costly from a cap stand point, which doesn't really bother me, but it would also cost draft pick(s), which terrifies me. Picks are pure gold, what with the rookie wage scale being so team friendly. So valuable, IMO.dead_poet wrote:Saints are saying MLB Curtis Loften is available via trade. He's not a superstar but he'd represent an upgrade. Costly salary, though ($2.65 million base + $4.5 million roster bonus). Has never missed a game. He'll be 29 this year. Not particularly great in coverage.
We could trade them our OTHER backup QBfrosted wrote: I'd prefer to pass on that one. I hope we're not looking at any two down LBs...that includes Brinkley...Vikings28 wrote:I think I'd rather have Spikes or Maualuga as a two down LB than Lofton. They're both younger and will probably be cheaper.
http://www.1500espn.com/sportswire/Free ... ards030515Iupati, who Pro Football Focus graded in 2014 as one of the best run blockers and worst pass protectors in the league. If Peterson were returning, I could see the fit. Iupati comes from the Greg Roman 49ers, a physical, run-first behind a fullback offense. Without Peterson, the Vikings became more of a three-wide, spread group to catalyze Teddy Bridgewater's development. That's why I think Denver's Orlando Franklin, a monster of a man at 6'7", 320lbs, could be a better for bolstering the left side of the line. Franklin, 27, is coming off his rookie contract and was ranked by PFF as the 8th-best pass-blocking guard and ranked 13th overall last season. Franklin has missed only one game in four seasons. Cincinnati's Clint Boling is another option coming off his rookie deal after practicing for three seasons against Zimmer's defenses from 2011-2013.
@GoesslingESPN One name to keep in mind for #Vikings: Adrian Clayborn. Wants to start, but could be nice addition to DE rotation in Minnesota.
I'm quite glad, I would have been upset if we had made a run at him.vatusay wrote:Bengals re-sign Maualuga to 3-year deal.
.....interestingThe Minnesota Vikings have spent an extensive amount of time with Randy Gregory before the start of today’s workout. We expected there will be a team or two who grabs him afterward. At the time of posting, Gregory is only planning on participating in position drills.
