Interesting. Thanks for the link. Now that the details are emerging, it actually sounds like the 49ers out together a very smart deal.

It's like a "prove it" contract except it's about money he gets each year and not his fate with the team.

Free agent S Will Hill has signed with the Arena League's Arizona Rattlers.
Hill was handed a six-game suspension for violating the league's substance-abuse policy last week and was waived by the Giants on Monday. He'll stay fresh in the Arena League until he's able to return to the NFL in Week 7. Despite all the off-field issues, we'd be surprised if Hill's NFL career is over.
