The defender knocked the ball loose before Ponder's hand started forward - that's called an empty hand and correctly ruled a fumble.

You're putting that on Ponder? Really?

What I liked was the way he seemed to take charge on that drive. I honestly wonder if he needs a really long leash... maybe he needs to be just allowed to make plays? Could it be any worse than what we see now?

That was a clear fumble.

Most of the blame on that is the pitiful blocking.

That would be the most mobile I've seen Loadholt in a long time.

Can someone file a missing persons report for Kyle Rudolph, last seen on the 1st play of the game?

Nah, that was a good defensive play. Corner knocked that ball out.

That was clearly a fumble. His arm moved forward but the ball was already out.

Forward motion rule was taken out this year.

Most of his "decent" throws are of the short variety, though, and even many of those are questionable.

Vikes are in deep doo-doo today. This one is going to be hard to stomach with a 3rd-stringer of an 0-2 team going on the road and successfully throwing into the end zone while Ponder has yet to attempt a throw into the end zone.

The problem is we see it (like in that last drive) and then it disappears for long stretches.

I wish Frazier and Musgrave would give him his long leash. I agree it couldn't be worse than what we see now, and it might hasten the day when they finally sit this bum and realize he's not the future.

I watched him step up and out of the pressure at least twice on that drive. It's difficult to have pocket presence without a pocket.
