That was not bad, Allen tried for a strip while he was still in bounds then got tangled up as he went down.

It was unnecessary as Luck was going out of bounds, the drive was over, and Allen didn't need to go for anything.

Doesn't the result speak for itself? We need to stop making excuses for Allen and start expecting him to play like the vet he is.

You said he was held. That's "Yeah, stupid, but..."

I said it was just stupid.

Because he was held. The two statements have nothing to do with each one another other than it should have been offsetting penalties if the refs had called it properly. That's not excusing Allen for a poor decision at the end of the play, that's just the way the play went down.
