Re: Twins
During the Twins current 5 game winning streak, they've had 86 hits. That comes to an average of about 17 per game. In the three games on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday they had 58 hits total. That has to be some kind of record, or at least damn close to one. That's pretty damn impressive, regardless of the fact that it's been against bottom-feeders.
Let's just hope that their not blowing their load too early.

Re: Twins
Obviously the trade value of Ramos dropped like a lead brick. Which is too bad, but it happens I guess. But now we know why Cliff Lee or Roy Oswalt aren't Twins.
I do think it is a good move, Matt Capps was a great closer on a very bad team. He has some really good numbers, plus he is still signed for next season. Has Joe Nathan played in his last game as a Twin?

I hope not, I really like Nathan. Provided he is the same player he was pre-surgery, I hope he is a Twin for a long time. As far as getting a closer, eh, not much of a move IMO. It MIGHT make a difference in a game or two, pretty ho-hum IMO. With out decent starting pitching, we dont need a closer..............IMO, they needed to get a starter.

I think the Twins just got an insurance policy against Nathan not being able to come back 100% next year. And I think they will get a starter still this year. They got Pavano late last year. Don't give up hope!

I see the White Sox just picked up a pitcher and are trying to get Dunn.............I hope we do SOMETHING to try improve this terrible rotation. Take a chance, we have 3 that could be replaced and it would be hard to do worse.

He did. I still think Slowey should have been sent down.HornedMessiah wrote:I just heard on the radio that Blackburn got sent down to AAA
Capps had a good debut. He definitely looked more confident than Raush did.

Slowey, Blackburn, and Baker could all go down as far as Im concerned. Baker looked terrible again last night I thought. I hope we trade for someone, at least an attempt to improve, this rotation definately wont cut it.

Re: Twins
After what could be considered the best game by a Twins pitcher this season, Gardenhire, moron dumbass that he is, removes Kevin Slowey in a 4-0 game after 8 innings. WTF?
THAT is why the Twins will NOT win a WS with him as manager.
And write it down: the Twins will get swept in St. Petersburg this week.

Re: Twins
And first batter is Ichiro, who struck out three times already, and has a very poor average against Slowey, and sure as ####, he gets a hit against one of the worst relievers of all time Jose Majares.

Re: Twins
Ya, it's puzzling. Slowey had an excellent night, and a complete game shut out would've been a huge boost to his confidence. 8 innings of shut out pitching is nothing to slouch at either, especially considering the season Slowey has had so far, but still...it's gotta be that damn pitch count philosophy. As soon as Mijares gave up that hit to Ichiro I thought, "Oh boy, here we go". Luckily it didn't unravel.PurpleMustReign wrote:After what could be considered the best game by a Twins pitcher this season, Gardenhire, moron dumbass that he is, removes Kevin Slowey in a 4-0 game after 8 innings. Tomorrow we have Liriano on the mound to close out the series. Get the sweep!

Here here!!
Knock on wood, but the starters seem to have woken from their slumber. Let's hope they don't fall into the "crap" pattern any more this season, unless they are up by 10 games in the division with 9 games left or something, which will give them enough time to snap out of it again by the time the playoffs come.

I strongly dislike Guardy. He is a total idiot. Why not let SLowey pitch a complete game?? They werent making contact at all? While we won, its stupid moves like that when we play decent/good teams that will get us beat.
I dont think we'll get swept, we'll win one, we are hitting well enough to steal on down there, I hope!
