We've done it a little prematurely in the past when Teddy or CP threw a bunch of interceptions in a game and said... "yeah, well those other guys threw a lot of INTs, too, he'll learn from it", but today's game is worth the comparison.

Aside from the two picks, Teddy looked on today. He showed that he can move the offense (with a battered line and hardly any running game) all on his own by making a ton of different throws on the road against a top 5 defense. The picks were rough, but even with those picks, he still moved the offense to get into field goal range two extra times, which was enough to make up for the picks and win the game.

This game looked like Teddy's best game yet (eye test). Even my Lions fan friends were discussing if they'd rather have Teddy at this stage of his career or Stafford.

This was not his best game yet. He is in part why we lost. Both picks were awful.

Not to pile on him because I do agree that it wasn't ALL his fault but does anyone have a way to compile Blair Walsh stats SANS the first perfect season? I have a feeling it'll look fairly pedestrian...

Think so?

Even with his misses last year and this year (prior to today's game) I still thought of him as a tick or so above average.

Hes also why the Vikings were up 14 in the first place against the #2 defense in the league and again, without any consistent run game to support him.

14 points doesn't win many games. His best performance was probably last week. I don't know how throwing 2 picks in a close game is considered good. He did good and bad today, to say this was his best performance is a stretch. I could agree with him showing signs of being a good qb though. The things he did right on the first 2 scoring drives was impressive, he does things like a Peyton Manning might, beats the defense pre snap.

I don't disagree with you about the picks being a reason why we lost. But I'm looking at all the throws Teddy was making today and all the times he moved the chains. The positives from this game showed me that he has what it takes to be a quality starting QB in this league. Just like when Aikman and Manning threw a bunch of picks in their rookie seasons, they also had many games where you can clearly see that they were going to be stars.

they just didn't try and even throw anything deep all day. then, when patterson comes in he caught 2 or 3 balls. i'm not sure what is going on with this offense anymore.

Disappointing to lose that game. Utter dominance for the first 20 or so minutes. The first INT was the most devastating because the vikings were driving and could possibly have gone up THREE scores late in the half and were receiving the kickoff. Things with teddy looked to come off the rails, especially after the 2nd INT.

Vikings left 6 points on the field with the missed FGs and had a drive of over ten minutes that resulted in zero points. That was the real difference in the game. End of game execution on the final two drives was abysmal. There was confusion and too much time was wasted. If that delay of game penalty hadn't occurred, it's completely conceivable that that final FG try would have been much more reasonable.

I still like where the team is headed. Need a few more pieces. However, we still haven't beaten a team with a winning record all season. Can't overlook that fact and allow yourself to be too excited.

He's got to keep his hand on top of the ball. He got lazy and let his hand roll underneath the ball too many times today, causing it to float on him.

That's what I saw, anyway.

Stand on top of the ball and throw it like you got a pair. Every time, not just more often that not.

Against one the best defenses in the league, on the road, i disagee its a stretch. Without a running game, the offense was able to move the ball effectively. One could argue that if Johnson got out of his break clean, it would have been a completion so i wouldn't call both ints aweful.

He struggled with accuracy at times today. Obviously, the two INTs were poorly thrown balls, but there were a few others that sailed on him. Namely, the miss to wright on the last possession (I think it was) where he was wide open with room to run. He was wiiiiide open and it sailed 5 feet over his head. Not trying to pick on him because I like him, but I wouldn't say this was his best performance.
