those are all good points and i don't disagree. however, i could find many games already this season where he made some great decisions to put us in a position to win. it wouldn't make much sense to credit the players for our wins and our coaches for our losses. it's a long season, and last i checked we have a lot of division titles under gardenhire with almost no money to spend. i will agree that if the rest of the season plays out like the last month has then i'd be more inclined to agree with you guys. but he pit us in a position to win last year, and we were playing great ball to start this season. i'm not about to jump all over the manager before we have reached the all-star break.

OOPS, Twins accidentally won a game there. Of Course, Pavano pitched and he's been on fire.

I couldn't watch the All Star game, but my dad and some co-workers told me that Mauer had a dreadful performance.
Badly missed an attempt to throw out a runner trying to steal 2nd, and then something about a base running blunder. Yikes. That's our MVP 150 million dollar man!
Here's to hoping that Mauer and the Twinkies can make their traditional post-All Star break surge.
btw, any word on the trade front as far as pitchers? I know Lee is with the Rangers now, but what about that Oswalt guy? Isn't the deadline in a few weeks?

Oswalt wants to be dealt but the Astros want to keep him.

Way to go Blackbum. He and Slowey need to got o Rochester and let Duensing start, and bring someone else up. What a joke the three Worthless Wonders (including Baker) have become.

wow, last week the sky was falling. managers needed to be fired..... pitchers sent to triple-a... season all but over....
we just took 3 of 4 from the hottest team in baseball. we're currently about a game back. it's gonna be a three way race for likely the only playoff team from the central. we're going to win close ones, and lose some tough ones. guys are going to get hurt, pitchers are going to have bad days, and mistakes will be made.
but the twins are a good team with a great manager. we won't always look perfect but we have the makeup of a team capable of making the post season and winning some games. we're within about 5 games of all of the great teams in baseball besides the yankees. not to mention, we have nearly 3 months of ball before everything gets sorted out.
everyone take a deep breath....

Can we please get rid of Baker, Slowey, and Blackburn already? If we had te starters, we would be a legitimate threat in the AL. But we have to have "the Radke Bunch" where it is straight fastballs all the time.
Please make a play for Oswalt or something.

I am still not convinced the sky is "staying up". Their starting pitching hasn't been this bad since the mid 90s.

After last nights stupendous Scott Baker performance, Gardy ripped Dalmon Young for dropping a fly ball at the beginning of the 5th inning where CLE scored 5 runs. As a former outfielder, yes he should have caught it, and I think he should have been given an error, however it was a difficult play. But for Gardy to blame the inning on that after his pathetic starter, again, gave up more than 5 runs in less than 5 innings? That is plain foolish.
I wish Gardenhire would be fired now. If I was Young I would "accidentally" throw the ball into the dugout towrd Gardenhire at tonight's game.

a little overreacting don't you think? But yes I think Gardenhire should tale Baker out instead of Young

Ya that's total BS. It seems like Gardy is extremely unwilling/afraid to put any kind of blame on the starting pitchers for the position we're in now, which is totally ridiculous considering it's the GLARING PROBLEM with the team. Rick Anderson must have some incriminating photos of Gardy or something.
Yelling at Young is really stupid too, considering that the guy is having a pretty darn good season. Dumb misdirected anger that could shatter a guy's confidence and send him into a slump.

What a crappy game last night. And I like MoneyBags (Mauer), but to bunt in that situation???? WTF. If he did that on his own (which I HOPE he did) he needs to be called out, that was terrible. If the coaches called for that, they need to be fired as they dont have the capacity to coach at the MLB level. If Childress was coaching like Guardy is right now, everyone would be calling for his head, Im not sure why Guardy has the fans so on his side, IMO, he is doing a terrible job. Starting pitching suck, we get a guy doing OK pitching, he gets pulled because of pitch count, reguardless of how he is actually pitching. IDK, he seems to have really lost a lot this year IMO. Throws Young under the bus (admittedly for a makable play but tough one) but wont bark about the pitching, frustrating. Its like worrying about a flat tire on a car with no motor, makes no sense.
