Patterson's fundamental problem is that he's a lousy route runner. That's why he's relegated to gadget plays and kick returns. It's all he can handle.

My point is that offseason training regimens don't mean much when on the field the guy (a) is shying way from contact or (b) can't catch the football.

Because that's the same as several grueling hours working out on sand with very little rest daily. Clearly evidence Patterson doesn't give af.

Maybe thats his game and thats what could make him very effective and we could get the most of him.
