Yeah, I thought Ponder was going to have a much better 200+ yard game.
Not much need, now. Lots of checkdowns and heavy Peterson/Gerhardt for the second half is what will happen.

Now, keep in mind his heroics to run for that first and dive in for that touchdown. He also hasn't turned it over. So it isn't stupendous but it isn't the usual horrendous Ponder that we've seen the last month or so.

He clearly decided he was okay with settling for the FG. It's a conservative choice but on the road, finishing that drive with 3 points, extending the lead and carrying positive momentum into the second half is a lot better than a miscue that might surrender momentum. The Vikes are dominating the game and considering the number of times they've turned it over late in the first half this season, I get the decision. I don't love it, but i get it.

I couldn't be much happier with the way this first half has gone. I hope the Vikes can finish the game strong and keep their playoff hopes alive. :)

200 yards for ponder ! That would be a fantastic day for him.

On all but a few throws Ponder has played very well this game , I am a little dissapointed in the way we ended the half just because it seems to be a pattern of bad clock/game management that has been evident most of the season . Great half of Vikings football !

Vikings may get a wild card. Hope cowboys. seahawks, bears, skins all lose. Vikings won't win nfcn. Playoffs ??????????

Right now I think we need a Bears loss because we won't win the division. I think.

So Bears Losing=Positive?!
Redskins losing by 4=Positive
New York losing 24-0=Positive
Tampa Bay getting SLAUGHTERED by the Saints 24-0=Positive
Vikings could honestly win this game by 30+ points=SUPER POSITIVE.

Could not ask for a much better first half for the Vikings. They need teams to lose, and they are all losing, and they have a 23 point lead and the ball back for the second half.

I'm actually thrilled we got a field goal to end the half. I've watched this team wuss out so many times to end a half and get nothing.
