Well that answers that! I guess Ezra is the starting RG!
For those that wanted Ezra at LT what are your thoughts on Darrisaw? It looks like a good pick at a position of need and Rick was able to pick up some extra ammo so great night from that respect
But does this cement Ezra as the proverbial square peg in a round hole ?

Not in a zone blocking scheme. Cleveland fits well pretty much anywhere but center because he's athletic and can hit his targets on the move.
I'm hopeful Cleveland managed to put on some good weight and add some strength over the offseason. Even though zone blocking schemes don't require guards with a lot of bulk and raw strength, there are still situations where those traits are necessary.
Darrisaw could slot in at guard too I suppose, although with his long arms he is a natural LT.

High athleticism that lacked strength and weight. Every scouting report I read had him as either a LT or swing tackle. I didn't see a single mention of guard. In fact, Rick said as much shortly after he was drafted. Clearly he played guard last year out of necessity but it's a clear misapplication. I hope he can figure it out and doesn't become another Mike Remmers.

Cleveland was a late second round pick despite his amazing athleticism due to his lack of functional strength. Darrisaw pretty much has no flaws and we almost took him at pick 14. Darrisaw should quickly become an above average LT with potential for even more.

Did we finally get the answer to this question?
Turns out when you draft a guy, never say he is your LT of the future, only play him at guard in practice, only play him at guard in games, you probably view the guy as a guard.
