Roster Cuts

Post by DK Sweets »

Jennings has near zero chance of coming to Minnesota. Zimmer prefers height and strength at virtually every position, and cornerback is no exception. Jennings and Captain are shorter guys that are great at jumping in front when playing zone coverage, and that's not our main coverage here. Having Jennings and Captain both on the roster is like stocking up on Twinkies for your upcoming diet.

@Andrew_Krammer #Vikings waive/injured QB Mike Kafka, roster now at 75. Had played just 10 snaps in last two exhibitions.

Here's the Star Tribune's take on the 53 man roster:

I doubt Heineke would make it to the PS. He's looked better than Hill IMO.

Boy do we look thin at OL.

I think Heineke would make the PS. He's an UDFA. How often are UDFA QBs placed on one team's practice squads signed to another team's active 53?

OL depth is a concern. Wouldn't surprise me if they signed someone after final cuts.

Idk, i judt dont see what is so good in Zach Line. I would much rather keep Ford and use a TE as a FB or have Asiata do it.

I hope you're right. I just fear that someone might see his numbers, watch his tape, and take a flyer on him. The kid's got something IMO. I'd really like to see him develop as Teddy's backup.

I'm starting to think I'm the only fan here who likes Zach Line. :)

I like Line as a person...but his blocking isn't good enough to help us...not to mention we have three
or four other guys who can do that role Asiata, Ellison, Pruitt

I would imagine Coleman, Thomas or Prater will catch on the practice squad if not picked up .. maybe two or three of them
