Wow.

Some reassurance?
There are 13 players who have been targeted six or more times while the offense was in the red zone. The only one of those 13 players not to allow a touchdown is Xavier Rhodes.

0/10.

Kalil may be having some regression issues this year, but come on. The guy is athletic as hell and definitely fits the LT bill all the way.
Like I stated, Rhodes is our best corner, even though that isn't saying too much. He should be starting the rest of the way without hesitation. It would not sadden me to see Cook, Jefferson, Robinson, and Sherels off the team one bit next year. I think we need to blow up the entire secondary save for Harrison, Blanton (he needs a chance to show what he can do), and Rhodes.

All three of these first rounders will be just fine.

Problem is, we need another season and a better coaching staff for better judgement. And that pretty much sums it up.
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

Given that this team hasn't found a way to fit Joe Webb into the game plan more in YEARS its not at all surprising that more recent picks aren't seeing many snaps. Its all part of Frazier and Musgrave's slo-mo plan of player development. Just be patient; I expect to see more of Cordarelle in 2016.

There's a very wide spectrum of probability when you say "potential". In your opinion, what would you say Patterson's chances are of becoming a #1 some day? A 90% chance? 75% chance? 50/50?

I think he'll become a pretty good receiver some day. Maybe along the lines of a 50 catch per year guy, but I have my doubts that he'll ever become a true #1 WR.

the only way to find out about patterson is to throw him the freaking ball. he has 8 catches on the year, and had 4 or 5 in his first preseason game. he has a huge upside but it can't be realized from the sideline.

IIRC, it was mostly MBT throwing him the ball in that game, against a crew of 3rd and 4th string DBs who are now either on practice squads or working at Home Depot.

I don't really think we do. Not with a grand total of five games at WR under his belt. We know he's big, he's fast, he's athletic, he has very good hands. There isn't much _not_ to like, except for experience and the fact that he's not 21 years old due to having wasted a few years trying to be a QB.

Cordarrelle Patterson has #1 WR potential. The two are not the same at all.
I didn't say they were the same, except that both aren't getting the ball. Joe Webb is expected to be less polished of a receiver at this point, but just because he isn't CP doesn't mean he is "marginal". He needs to get the ball so we find out what his potential is.
