Week 1: @ Lions - the MVP rips it up week 1. Vikings win 27-17
Weak 2: @ Bears - Hiccups per usual at Soldier Field. Vikings lose 24-13
Week 3: vs Browns - Ponder struggles and rides AP but manages to hit Jennings for his first TD of the year to "dagger" it. Win 27-17
Week 4: vs Stealers <----- love the typo. haha. AP shines in London for the 2nd consecutive week and we sneak away with a W. 17-14
Week 5: BYE
Week 6: vs Panthers - Newton shreds us apart. Defense has no answer and offense is minimal. Lose 28-13
Week 7: @ Giants **Monday Night Football** - Vikings surprising win after nobody expects it. Ponder has the rushing game of his life. 31-17
Week 8: vs Packers **Sunday Night Football** - Tons of momentum going into this. Jennings torches GB and Vikings escape 35-31
Week 9: @ Cowboys - Adrian returns to Texas where Romo, for some reason, has an insane game. Vikings lose 27-21
Week 10: vs Redskins **Thursday Night Football** - Nobody predicting us to win or stop RG3. AP shreds WAS apart and goes for 200+ in a 26-21 win
Week 11: @ Seahawks - Competitive game but Harvin is too much to handle. Winfield oddly enough doesn't play b/c injury. Lose 34-21
Week 12: @ Packers - Cold game. Couple of Walsh misses cost us the game and AP has OK game. Lose 23-10
Week 13: vs Bears - Bears are hot and Marshall is coming off an insane week. Cutler makes too many mistakes in a close Vikings 14-10 win
Week 14: @ Ravens - Vikings surprise everyone and rattle the cage of Joe Flacco and the Oline gives Ponder great protection in a 27-13 win
Week 15: vs Eagles - Vick is Vick and Jared Allen returns fumble for a TD to ice the game in overtime. Vikings win 26-20
Week 16: @ Bengals - AJ Green and Dalton are too much. Green scores 3 TDs in a much needed Bengals win. Vikings lose 31-20
Week 17: vs Lions - Last game in the dome is a must win for the Vikings. AP, once again, shreds DET for 200 and 2 scores. Win 41-28

10-6
LOL! Now that's fantasy football. You just played an entire season out in your head! If you're accurate, it's going to be more than a little eerie.

This is a brutal schedule and my initial reaction is that I won't be surprised if the Vikes take a step back in the W/L column this year. Going from 3 wins to 10 last year was a spectacular feat but they're still a team in flux, rebuilding, replacing veterans, developing their passing game, etc. They could win 10+ but if they do it against this schedule, look out, because they might win more than that. :)

Agreed. It's still a tad early, especially before the draft. We've got some holes to fill before we start thinking about winning many of these games.

Lol Just to keep the pendulum swinging this way... I'll say 15-1

Seriously though I think, rather than another surprising year, we go 9-7 and back into the playoffs because the North falls off dramatically from the last few years, Chicago and Detroit both have losing records and I could see the Packers losing (gasp) 6 games easily.

I think we have a good chance to sweep Chicago with their new coach, sweep Detroit, split with Green bay. The Cowboys will either stomp us or get stomped. The Browns I see an easy win. I also see us beating the eagles. Lets see, with just those that puts us at 8-8. Since every season has a surprise we will probably win a game we shouldn't and lose one too. So I see 8-8 as a good bench mark based on last year and the additions so far. IMO we haven't really gone to the next level by adding Jennings and the players who the "experts" say we are targeting in the draft, but we have cemented our position as a decent team. We should stomp teams that don't have their ducks in row and give anyone a scare when we play well. I haven't really been following the Steelers recently but they seem to still be on a downward trajectory? I am not comfortable calling that one a win but barring an injury to AP I would lean towards win for us on that one too.

I think Chicago may actually be tougher to beat with their new coach. I'd expect another split with the Bears.

It sucks that the Vikes open with 2 road games in the division. They have to get off to a fast start or they'll be in deep with the season barely underway.

12-4, After starting off 5-0. The 3 primetime games in 4 week will be killer. The vikings have never played well in these types of games. 12-4 will be good enough to make it to the playoffs, but we will only make it as a wildcard. Our success this season, in my opinion, depends on the continued development of Ponder and the out come of the upcoming draft. After the draft next week I will make a more detailed prediction.

12-4? a little high if you ask me especially for a wildcard spot. And since I feel we have actually lost talent on the team since last year with Winfield and harvin gone I believe we will slip to a 8-8, 7-9 at best. Not to mention how ugly it gets with just one injury at any of the following positions (FS, QB, HB, WR). I hope the draft proves me wrong and we get a quality MLB, WR, CB and DL also herd some fans wanting a G this must be the miracle draft, we don't even have quality starters at all positions yet we are ready to draft and improve one of our strongest quality as a team.

I forgot to give a prediction!

I am saying low end this team will be 8-8. On the high end, I can see 11-5. I feel like we will have a legitimate shot at playing in a wild card game.

Without knowing the draft it's hard to predict, i will update when we know exactly what we have.. So I'm going to ballpark some percentage of wins.

Week 1: @ Lions - 50% (I feel the Lions are going to be the "where did they come from?" team this year)
Weak 2: @ Bears - 50% (Let's hope cuttler sucks as bad as last year)
Week 3: vs Browns - 80%
Week 4: vs Stealers -50%
Week 5: BYE
Week 6: vs Panthers - 45% (We match up terrible against the panthers imo)
Week 7: @ Giants **Monday Night Football** - 50% (I live in NY and watch every giants game, the two teams are very similar (the potential to play ugly) with exception Giants excel against elite teams.)
Week 8: vs Packers **Sunday Night Football** - 65% (we are at home)
Week 9: @ Cowboys - 55% (this one is tricky because the Cowgirls can be a handful if they don't implode)
Week 10: vs Redskins **Thursday Night Football** - 50% (This is a tough call because we don't know what to expect from RG3 after his knee surgery yet)
Week 11: @ Seachickens - 30% (@ Seattle .. yeah fun)
Week 12: @ Packers - 45%
Week 13: vs Bears - 60% (This could be much harder if the bears are in the playoff run at this point)
Week 14: @ Ravens - 40% (I know the ravens are gutted I just don't feel this one)
Week 15: vs Eagles - 65%
Week 16: @ Bengals - 45%
Week 17: vs Lions - 60%

Nothing is a lock, nothing is a definite loss either. I give us a 30% chance of going over 8-8.

I see another 7 game improvement. We go from 3-13 to 10-6 to 17 - (-1) - we get credit for a win against the Pack at Lambeau in 2011 for blow calls by the refs.

In truth, I see 9-7. We lose a couple random home games, a couple random away games, and get blown away in Seattle, Chicago, and Green Bay.

That's 4 nationally televised games I'll get to see! Add in the Panthers as my "local" team and I might actually see the Vikes play this season more than I ever have.

I'm also considering a road trip to Baltimore with a good friend who is a Ravens fan and from there.

If they start the season 0-2, which is certainly conceivable, having to play two division games on the road, the Vikings could be _lucky_ to finish .500.

Two divisional road games, week 4 road game in LONDON...
Early bye. All of that is bad for us.

Weeks 7-14 are BRUTAL.

Giants road game, both Packers games, Ravens game (all recent super bowl winners) Bears again, Redskins and Seahawks
(good teams with mobile quarterbacks that scored 30+ points on us and defeated us last season) road game against Dallas YIKES. Eagles, Bengals
and Lions to close it out isn't that easy either, especially with our secondary woes and no Winfield or Harvin.

Very, very rough schedule. 8-8 might be difficult.
