Why do you find Birk loathe-worthy?

He seems like a good guy on the field and appears to be a smart guy during his KFAN interviews but I just morally disagree with this guy on just about everything. Won't go further because this forum forbids political rants.Mothman wrote:

Ah, I understand now. Thanks for answering my question.NextQuestion wrote:He seems like a good guy on the field and appears to be a smart guy during his KFAN interviews but I just morally disagree with this guy on just about everything. Won't go further because this forum forbids political rants.
I think that makes perfect sense. As an admitted Moss "fan" I am disappointed that he never put forth the effort Rice did in the game. That is why Jerry was (is) the greatest of all time. Had Moss possessed Rice's work ethic, Moss would have that title. Cris Carter once said, "Randy can be as good as Randy wants to be" (or words to that effect). It's somewhat disappointing Moss is not the greatest of all time, since he had the natural talent to accomplish that. I'm glad Birk got a ring though.Purplemania wrote: I know this sounds weird. I didn't comment because I happened to catch that conversation in real time when it was on NFL Network.NextQuestion wrote:I'm surprised the video I posted hasn't gotten more comments. People like Sapp and Sanders saying facing Randy was far more of a nightmare than Rice. Sanders says something like "we'd practice for an extra 30 minutes because of Moss".
Great video. Michael Irvin needs to listen better because he might have learned something from two of the best defenders ever in the NFL in Sanders and Sapp. Those two make it clear that Moss in his prime was nearly unstoppable. Sanders talking about having to practice longer just because of Moss sums it all up.NextQuestion wrote:I'm surprised the video I posted hasn't gotten more comments. Yeah, I liked sapps comparison, rice being the sword zorro uses, can slice you up in a second all tactical, and moss was excalibur, one swing and it's over haha. Personally it's no contest that Moss was the most dangerous and gifted WR of all time for me. Clearly he didn't have the best career or stats of playing at a high level for a long time, and rice was a better route runner, but like sapp and deion said you'd play a safety 30 yards deep and he'd get behind you, there wasn't much of an answer for randy moss.losperros wrote: Great video. I think it's easy to forget that there wasn't much of an answer for Jerry Rice either, which is why he was able to compile the incredible, record-setting numbers he did. Rice was a serious deep threat earlier in his career and, like Moss, he was the kind of factor defenses had to put in a lot of work to prepare for each week. I think Sapp's comparison works better for the latter half of Rice's career.mondry wrote: Yeah, I liked sapps comparison, rice being the sword zorro uses, can slice you up in a second all tactical, and moss was excalibur, one swing and it's over haha. It doesn't sound weird to me either ... I understand where you are coming from, and I agree.Purplemania wrote:I know this sounds weird. Jerry Rice is the best WR ever, but Moss is the most dangerous WR ever, if that made any sense.
Uhhhh no. Where do you get the idea that he sucked in the playoffs?Laserman wrote:Even in his prime on the vikings randy Moss was totally shut down in Playoff and big games . he only excelled when it was easy for him. Greatest ever?? Not even close. There are at least 5 WR active today that are better than he ever was. His ego and terrible attitude ruined his legacy. He could have been the best ever. He had way more natural talent than Jerry rice but he didn't have it between the ears and he lacked a champion's character
