Seriously hope this doesn't come to fruition. I don't think he offers anything to a team, especially not as a starting Quarterback. Unless he's willing to compromise and fill an H-Back role, I think his days in the league will be numbered. The only thing that keeps him around IMO is the publicity/merchandise that comes with the name.

As proven this season with the Jets, working purely in gimmick packages wasn't productive and I think after a hugely successful Vikes season, this would be a step backwards.

this really won't happen. Ponder has been touted as #1 QB for the next season, so the only back-up we should be looking at is a competitive veteran to show ponder the ropes and to give Ponder a bit of competition.
