You know I saw that story last night and immediately thought about this thread. It's a shame her chance had to end from an injury but I think this shows how much more plausible my prediction is.

I thought the same thing.

I think it may happen sooner than 10 years and that she should get another shot when her leg heals.

Still, I'd wager she'd be a liability on returns if she was kicking off.....unless she could just blast it through the endzone every time.

A female kicker in the NFL?

NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. I'd bet a year's salary that a 50 year old Ryan Longwell could outdistance 99.99% of the female kickers in the world. Could a female kicker be deadly accurate from inside the 40? Yes. But for every one of them you could find a hundred male kickers who could do the same thing.

My new bold prediction, Cassel starts over Ponder by mid-season!

...wisdom through having to simply play the games

i hope you're wrong....but it feels good having an option.

Cassel had a good year because the team had a good year--New England
Cassel had a bad year because the team had a bad year--Kansas City
Ponder had a bad year, but the team had a good year--Minnesota
I lost confidence in Ponder because he "won't" throw down the field. Cassel, with new blood just might fit the bill. This "who did Ponder have to throw to?" talk is nonsense as far as some are concerned. I'm one of them...all teams have cats who can run, cut and catch, some a bit better then others. I think Cassel will thrive when Ponder continues what he was doing while healthy, and on a momentum churning team. I guess we will all see!

Addendum: Why hope that I am wrong? I want a qb who will throw past 10/15 yards and aim for the end zone...just a bit more!

...wisdom through hoping for a "real" contender

only because i'm wanting a solid qb for a decade or so and Ponder is 3 yrs in already.

if you're right it means we are drafting another in next years draft...which is how it's done, but Cassell is not that guy in any case.

Except for all those plays where he threw down the field...

You're right, who a QB is throwing to is nonsense. That's why Miami just dished out $60 million for Wallace, why the Seahawks traded 3 draft picks for Percy Harvin, why Calvin Johnson is the highest-paid receiver in the game and so on. It's because those guys are "a bit" better than cats like Jerome Simpson and Michael Jenkins.

Absolutely correct.

That's true but the prediction in your post (" I think Cassel will thrive when Ponder continues what he was doing while healthy, and on a momentum churning team") wasn't the part we were responding to so I'm not sure how the thread title serves as an explanation for a comment like "This "who did Ponder have to throw to?" talk is nonsense as far as some are concerned. I'm one of them...all teams have cats who can run, cut and catch, some a bit better then others." That wasn't a prediction at all.

...wisdom... ;)

Greg Childs comes back 100% healthy and has a pro bowl year, Jarious wright replaces (Percy WHO),we pick up C. Patterson who comes in swinging, Peterson rushes for 2500 yards, C. Ponder has an MVP runner up year, Peterson gets the MVP, super Bowl Champs 2013,2014, 2015 Undefeated Season ,2016.
