I can't remember but that sounds right. He didn't do a whole lot with the Giants....but he's looked good so far in Tenn.

It will be interesting to keep an eye on Cleveland this season....just to see how Childress does.

Yes. Reynaud bombed with the Giants, with only a 5.7 yard punt return average, and was completely out of football in 2011. If he comes back and does well with Tennessee this year, that will be quite a story.

I didn't realize he was out all of last season. look at his #'s last week:

7 carries for 75 yards

2 punt returns for 49 yds

1 kick return for 42 yds

The week before he had an 85 yd punt return for td and 5 carries for 29 yds......

and he was a top 10 punt returner in 09 for the vikes.

I always liked the kid, hope he succeeds. Anyway enough of Reynaud from me.....

They play Pitt 2x and Bal 2x. Tough division.

:wallbang: Well, hopefully it's not bad and he can open the season at or close to 100%

Letroy Guion - DL - Vikings

Vikings NT Letroy Guion has suffered a setback in his recovery from a sprained right PCL.

He won't suit up for Friday's tilt with the Chargers. It will be Guion's second straight exhibition absence after he hurt his knee in the opener, and has his status for Week 1 murky. Veteran Fred Evans is starting in his absence.

Robert Blanton - DB - Vikings

Vikings S Robert Blanton (hamstring) has been sidelined since early in camp, and is uncertain for Friday's game against the Chargers.

"We are hoping that he can play in this ballgame on Friday night so we can get some tape on him and evaluate him in game situations," coach Leslie Frazier said. A physical run stopper, Blanton was in the mix for snaps heading into camp, but his roster spot will be up in the air if he misses his third straight game Friday.

It is a shame. I think Robert can be a good player for us. I hope the Vikings don't give up on him already.

Jerome Simpson to work out in Cincinnati during suspension. Maybe California.
He'll be in Cincinnati, where he played for four NFL seasons, during part of the suspension to work out with trainer Clif Marshall at Ignition APG. He also might visit California to refine his route-running with trainer Charles Collins.

Frazier said Chris Cook (concussion) has passed all the tests but one and expectation is he'll be fully cleared by day's end. #Vikings
If the season started tomorrow, Frazier said, Marcus Sherels would be the punt returner. Wright, Robinson, Walters all have worked in.
Guion MRI showed no structural damage on knee. Buche has knee inflammation. Dean has a shoulder issue. #Vikings
#Vikings considering starting Jamarca Sanford instead of Mistral Raymond on Friday after all. Want to give him one more shot.
Buche, Carlson, Cook, Guion, Schwartz, Jorden, Peterson won't play Friday, per Frazier. Blanton, Dean, Elimimian, DLove status TBD. #Vikings

Frazier said the DBs coach for an opponent last year called him after the game to tell him how easy it was to exploit their weaknesses.

---heck, if THAT'S not motivation for improvement...
Point being, the group looks much improved. Obviously, a lot of factors involved last year. Jared Allen said this is deepest group he's seen

I really hope it was Tony Oden from the Saints. Now he's the DB coach for the Jaguars.

It could have been literally any DB coach from all 16 teams. Except maybe Arizona

I thought there was another game before the last wave of cuts. Dang.
Last look

Friday's game will be the last for a bunch of players on the Vikings' roster.

The deadline for NFL teams to cut down from 90 to 75 players is 3 p.m. Central on Monday. The final cutdown to 53 players is 8 p.m. CT on Friday, Aug. 31.

"For the guys that are in the bubble for the 75 as well as the 53," Frazier said, "when they get their turn in the game on Friday night, it's going to be so, so important if they show that they deserve to be a part of the next week's team.

"So, we put a lot of weight into what happen when those guys get in the game in the second half on Friday night. It'll mean a great deal as we're trying to make a determination of what 15 are going to remain or not remain."

Friday also will be the last chance for most starters to get extended action before the regular season begins. The plan is to play the first string until halftime and probably a series in the third quarter.

"The starters are going to get an extended amount of reps, and we want them to be good, quality reps," right end Jared Allen said. "Individually, you kind of look at it as you get at least a half in and you kind of test your win and see where you're at. ... It's the more important of the three, I would say, just to make sure you're geared up."

There is. Week 4 preseason games are all played on Wednesday and Thursday, August 29th and 30th. The final cutdown to 53 is Friday, August 31st.

So 15 players in the first round of cuts won't see game 4. Nor will many veterans, who will be held out of the game.
