i can assure you guys that the first time this team runs out of the tunnel, the first td pass ponder throws, the first huge td run AD busts, the first time we beat the packers.....you won't care about these little changes in the uni's.

Still wish they would have incorporated the norseman on the sleeves somehow. Like PurplePride mentioned, putting the norseman on the away sleeves would have been sick.

Is the norseman anywhere on the jerseys? I guess we still haven't seen the back yet. I agree that they would have looked good on the sleeves.

They're not going to put it on the back of the jersey. I don't think there are any surprises left on the jerseys. We still haven't really seen the side of the pants, though.

No, but one of the teaser images appeared to indicate that and it looks like it will be thick purple stripe with a thinner gold stripe inside of it.

I'm eager to see a good side view of the helmet. I hope they did a good job on it.

My friend pointed out that if you look at the reflection behind the manequin in one of those pictures, you see the white stripe on the shoulder area looks like it turns into a horn similar to the helmet horn on the backside. I don't know if it's the mirror playing tricks or what.

As someone who is majoring in design/multimedia..I have no idea how anyone can not like these new jerseys. Our old ones were an atrocity, the purple looked like blue under certain lights even! This new purple is perfect, the darker shade added with a nice matte finish on the helmet makes this really attractive to the eye.

Yeah, I hope it's that simple, and not broken up by having the norseman at the top of the stripe, or some curved horn thing, like the current uniforms. Also, we haven't really seen the purple pants yet. Are they going to have a wide white side panel with a gold stripe? That wide white stripe would look odd on the purple.

Taking another look at the leaked photo, there's something high on the should between the stripes and numbers. I'll bet on one shoulder it's the Nike logo. A small norseman could be fit on the other shoulder.

All of you who say you don't like these new jerseys, wait until you see the entire team in them. Most unis look dumb on the manikins at first.

Personally, I absolutely love what I see so far. Nike has done a great job incorporating the history of the Vikings jerseys with a new look. I agree with most of you on the pointy corners on the numbers, but if that is the only thing i "have to get used to" i think I will be ok.

The matte finish on the helmets looks sharp IMO, looking even more vintage. Come on guys, they didn't have the cute little sparkles back in the 70s.

I love the Matte helmet, with grey face mask.

Going to be interesting to see what they look like on the field though.

I wonder if the matte helmet will be used in every game or if it's just an option. I noticed in college football that many teams swap from matte helmets, to normal helmets, to chrome helmets week to week.

Hopefully we won't see too much of that stupidity carried over to the NFL any time soon, although I don't doubt that eventually we'll see teams with four or five completely different uniforms, helmets included. It's all about marketing and selling merchandise, and the NFL is going to wring every last penny out of that cash cow before they're finished.
