What do you consider a "flier"? A 4th rounder or a 7th rounder?
McCarron I would probably put in the third tier but since I have 3 there already I figure no sense in putting another. The intention wasn't to rank all QBs, just to give an opinion on where I see the majority in terms of draft value. Brett Smith I would say 5th and Shaw a 6th or 7th.

Why did Derek Carr play at Fresno State and not a bigger program, especially if the kid had aspirations of playing in the NFL? The comparisons with his brother are inevitable, and while there's no reason to expect him to be the same player as his brother, the same doubts about drafting a star from a second rate program, with second rate competition, have to be on the minds of scouts.

Fresno St. was a nationally ranked team early in the season.

Would be so happy if the Raiders picked him at 5! Hope that's the surprise he's talking about!

Strong rumors here in Houston that Bortles will be the first pick. He had a very good workout. Oakland traded for Schaub so they have their Q.B. and the Texans also just signed Ryan Fitzpatrick. Carr had a very good workout the other day. Hopefully he can read defenses better then his older brother. Bridgewater looked horrid on his Pro day. Hopefully the Vikes will take either Carr or McCarron. New coaches like to pick their own guy at Q.B. Manziel has his Pro day 3/27. M. Hodge said he will be a bust and has a pop-gun arm... That ain't good. The Manziel-Gruden interview is 3/27 as well.

It would be classic Raiders if they took Carr at #5.

So the Raiders get Matt Schaub for a late round pick.

I really wish the Vikes would have gone for him. Houston got impatient with him. Would have been a nice upgrade from Cassel and he could have played a couple more years for the Vikes while we groomed a future QB. This guy had a bad season last year but in prior years has played at or above game-manager level. In 2012 he threw for 4,000 yards, 64%, 22TD and 12 INT.

Also looks like Terelle Pryor wants a trade from Oakland. Any takers?

They'll probably just end up releasing Pryor. Terrelle Pryor is kinda like a Joe Webb, with some football talent in addition to being able to run fast and jump over tall things. How much football talent, though, is debatable.

Hey, Freeman wasn't horrible in 2012 either. The last couple years for these guys are somewhat similar regarding "the fall."

I like Schaub, but I don't know how I would have felt about his contract had we got him. Good luck to him. He'll need it out there.

Found my guy. Pocket presence, strong arm, leadership, blah, blah, blah.... All you need is some X-men powers like Bryn Renner:

(On a serious note, I think he deserves a look late in the draft which is how I found the video)

As for leadership qualities ... I don't get his reaction. He looked genuinely p.o.'d. Slams the ball into the turf, removes his helmet and runs off the field. Huh?

You want other team's "throw-aways" no thanks. If a guy can't even make it in Oakland (quarterback starved) then he must suck.

Here is an article breaking down Bridgewater, Bortles, and Manziel.
