Huff is a free safety, we have Harrison Smith.

* you might be thinking of DHB, and i say pass on him.

Huff is not trust worthy, way too inconsistent. And I'd assume he's getting up there in age by now. No thanks, I'll pass, he's nothing special.

If Amendola were ever healthy, he would have A LOT better numbers. This year while he was healthy, he was incredible. I'd love to have him, but it would have to be an incentive laden deal. He's been made of glass to this point in his career

So Christian Ponder is suddenly going to get 1000 and 8 TD's out of him? Amendola is a #3 receiver, possibly a #2 guy if he played with a great #1. Unfortunately our team's roster is composed of a handful of #3's, #4's, and #5's and we just let three #1's pis away.

Amendola would be only be a good pickup had we already got Jennings or Wallace. On his own is like 2010, expecting Greg Camarillo to fill the void of Sidney Rice.
That's quite a tirade you got going there from a single sentence I wrote. Two whole paragraphs disputing things I never said in the first place. Try not to burn too many calories beating up that straw man.

Huff would be a great addition!
Strongly disagree. He has defined mediocre throughout his professional career. Or more specifically, he has gone from a C- to a C+, but has never excelled.

The Raiders are my favorite AFC team. I don't watch all their games, but I see a lot of them. Huff has never stood out.

Now you take Percy harvin out, which was 25% of the plays, plan on adding a rookie or two wr corp and except improvement? I know we went on a winning spree without harvin, but A.p was also averaging over 150 yards per game. My biggest worry it hearing this improvement and delvopment word year after year until Peterson retires....or barry sanders it.
Did you watch the Vikings go from a three win season to a 10 win season and make the play-offs  , more than tripling the win total and making the play-offs? "Take Percy Harvin out". The Vikings did not have Harvin for almost half of the season and faired quite well without him. Now they are able to take extra 1st, 3rd and 7 round picks to improve the team more. And so you are ready to write off this team as far as not being able to improve from last year after one day of free agency :?:

Amendola has never played an entire 16 game season in his career. If I were the Vikings I would pass.

I wouldn't mind bringing in DHB for very cheap. He wouldn't need to be the feature of the offense or anything, just a guy you can put in to at least try to keep defenses a tiny bit honest due to his speed. As long as its peanuts, what's the risk?

Then again, he might just be Troy Williamson 2.0 :D

Bernard Pollard - DB - Free Agent

Ravens released SS Bernard Pollard.

The purge continues in Baltimore. The hard-hitting Pollard had a $3.25 million cap figure and a $500K roster bonus in 2013, but was a core piece of the defense and is just 28 years old. The Super Bowl Champs have now lost a stunning six starters off their 2012 defense. Perhaps they're preparing to make an offer to retain Ed Reed. Pollard will not hurt for suitors after racking up 98 tackles, two sacks, one interception and six pass breakups in 13 starts a year ago.

Wednesday (Greg Jennings -- Vikings vs. Packers) edition: Wha' Happened?
All we know is this: If Jennings is in purple next year, it’s a good thing even if Minnesota has to overpay a little. If he winds up somewhere else – particularly Green Bay – for modest money, this will be seen as a huge opportunity wasted. The Vikings traded Harvin and don't have to pay him. They cut Antoine Winfield. The money is there. Will they spend it on Jennings and will he come here regardless are the two questions looming large today.

I would love to have him.

Oh wait, what was that Rick? You signed Jamarca Sanford? Oh, ok, never mind.

I get how you feel, every time a descent name hits the market we want them to jump in and sign him, I don't agree with that but I do think they could take advantage a FA a bit more.

I am not in favor of every guy. I am not dumb, this team was never going to be active. However, by the same accord, we have NO visitis lined up and have no reported interest in anyone. I fear I see the mentality we have all seen with Minnesota year in and year out. They fall in love with certain players that suck #### and continue to play them. Examples include, but are not limited to: Letroy Gunion, Anthony Herrera, Ryan Cook, Tahi, Jamarca Sanford, etc. I know for a fact that we will not see upgrades to the strong safety position.

But, screw it. This team already has lost two of its best players, no need to sign more talent. This team was lucky to make the playoffs this past season thanks to Adrian Peterson playing out of his damn mind. They will not be so lucky this year. The draft is not going to be our saving grace.

Hard to be big players in free agency when you have to overpay for your own free agents. Loadholt gets 6.25 a year, Jermon Bushrod gets 7 mill a year.
