They're NOT dumping Patterson and he IS a worker. Try trusting what Zimmer is currently saying for a change.

Okay, so why did he choose to not follow Zimmer's advice of working; with an ex NFL wid eout, this offseason.

IMO the Vikings are hoping he gets it, because of two valid reasons. They moved up into the first and wasted mulitple picks,
to get him. Secondly he does have very highly skilled abilities in size, speed and agility.

Look I personally want Patterson to be a ten year pro bowl guy, and help us win championships. IMO guys that have the world
on a puppet string, due to godlike physical abilties, never learn to work hard, because they were naturally three times better
than everyone else, on any team, they play for or against.

Watch the give an take; between the host and guests. Between 6-8 minutes they are talking about Wallace and all the extra work, he is putting in
this offseason. Norv say's most receivers are putting extra work to get better or be great. I think Patterson name gets left out, or someone comments
that he is not doing these things.

We don't really know. Perhaps it was for a good reason.

Norv was asked specifically about Wallace. The only other receiver he mentioned by name was Johnson ("CJ"). Logically, there's no reason to assume that means Wright, Diggs, Thielen and Patterson aren't also working hard and.or putting in extra time.

This spring, Patterson decided to show up a week earlier than his teammates. He said he wanted to get a jump on the routine on his own, working at the team's Winter Park training facilities before the start of Phase I in the NFL's offseason program. Teammate Mike Wallace said Patterson has been on time to "every meeting, every practice" as the two form their own friendship after the Vikings traded for Wallace in March.

"With his tools, it's crazy," Wallace said of Patterson. "He has so many tools he can be one of the best receivers in the game. He just has to put it all together."

everything regarding patterson has been conflicting. you hear that he has worked hard in the off season and then we hear he is acting lazy and is the first of the receivers to leave practice. who is telling the truth? i actually think he won't be a viking after this season either way, but the way the media reports things is sickening today. people make things up to get attention even if it isn't true.

My impression is that Patterson has put in serious offseason work and it's starting to pay off. Now, to what degree is debatable (it probably depends on your already-formed opinion of him and your expectations). All reports I've read out of camp have been much more positive than negative.

Also, I think the "not staying after practice" thing is getting blown out of proportion. He could be coming in early or staying after a few days but not all of them for various scheduling issues. We don't know. It should be noted he also came a week early to either OTAs or camp (I thin OTAs), though people aren't focusing on that as much for whatever reason.

Right now his arrow seems to be pointing up, though unfortunately for him so does the arrows of Charles Johnson and Stefon Diggs. All he can do is perform and make plays. By all accounts he's doing just that right now.

Training camp seems to be when the tired cliché "First one to practice and last one to leave" is in its highest currency.

Add to that, Coach Zimmer, Norv Turner, WR Coach George Stewart, and all the players (including Mike Wallace) are all lying for Patterson. They say CP is working hard and improving when all he's doing is being a lazy thug.

What list? He had more yards than Johnson and Wallace combined! Based on how meaningful preseason football games are, I'd say he's already vaulted his way past those two receivers on the depth chart.
