That is an overstatement, the Vikings are 16th in current open cap room for this year.
That isn't the only factor when it comes to overall cap situation, not at all, but just saying.
EDIT: Im sorry Jim, i read that wrong, I thought your comment was in regards to the Vikings, my apologies!

Mike Wallace - WR - FA
Minnesota has released veteran WR Mike Wallace. Wallace caught 39 passes for under 500 yards in 16 games for the team in 2015.

#Vikings also formally waived Austin Wentworth, whose football career ended last March because of illness. But in class move kept paying him

It doesn't sound as if Cincinnati free-agent safety George Iloka is close to any deal right now. #Vikings are still in the mix.

Maybe we see CP play. Seriously. But i will die if they pay (or overpay) for a FA WR. Grab a good hands WR in the 3rd or later.

That's the view from afar but starter J'Marcus Webb has always been an adequate player at best and he's a free agent. The Raiders run blocking wasn't anything special last year. They have room to upgrade, especially at the point of attack and in addition to Webb, their starting left tackle, Donald Penn, is 32 and also a free agent. Signing a versatile, quality player like Osemele actually makes a great deal of sense for them.

I won't because as far as I'm concerned, he's another Fusco/Johnson/Herrera type and I'm tired of the team settling at guard. I think they made him an offer that's commensurate with his experience and current skill level.
So you're basing that logic off of one season? A good one for that matter. He's a right guard. Most of the elite big time guards are left guards. To have a guy like Harris on the right side is a good thing. Especially at a cheaper price than Fusco

Suddenly? It was a need all year with or without wallace

No, 2 seasons with the Vikings and 4 in the NFL.

More thoughts and rumors about Harris:
Andrew Renschen @InfraRen
@GoesslingESPN said it seems Vikings are trying to find a LG and to move Fusco back to RG. Still talking to Mike Harris too.
Andrew Krammer @Andrew_Krammer
Re: Mike Harris, hearing gap w/ #Vikings isn't insurmountable by any means. Though a deal like Osemele's piques interest in open market.
