I'm not horribly disappointed, as I assume no one wanted to trade up, since none of the elite prospects fell to us. That being said, I don't like Waynes and think he has high bust potential. All the analytics guys breaking him down think he sucks. Can't change directions. All his highlights seem to be him running in a straight line. Hell, even the NFL network highlight tape was brutal. Hopefully he can be coached up. That being said, there wasn't a prospect that I was clamoring for based on who was available, so I guess it's not horrible.

Cleveland just got a great player. We should have picked him.

No. Lack the ammo this year. Deep receiver class. That would be dumb.

I'm not a fan. That tape didn't show me anything. But it often doesn't on those CB's, because the QB and WR play are so variable in college. I just hate drafting the "combine" guy who ran fast or lifted a lot of weight. I worry that those guys are overrated.

That was my point. Theres no doubt in my mind Waynes would have been there with our 2nd pick. Doesnt matter now, but i would have taken almost anyone else. Even Shelton or Gordon.

You can't coach up stiff hips.

I like the pick.
No pitchforks here, just some concerns about his change of direction ability. Hopefully I'm as wrong as i was about Barr last year. I'll give Zimmer the benefit of the doubt because of his rep for developing CB's.

Think Waynes was best corner on the board.

Don't know why everyone's on the Dupree bandwagon. Definition of a workout warrior, I want productive players, not guys who look good at the combine
Workout warrior pretty much sums up Trae Waynes as well to be fair.

As long as Gordon is on the board there's still the possibility of an AD trade in the first.

 Yes, it's probably a good sign.

I thought they might go with Parker there but Waynes is no surprise and I like the pick. I'd say I'm surprised by the number of negative reactions but that happens every year.

Something to keep in mind: most Vikes fans were excited to have Zimmer as the new HC because they believed he knew what he was doing and they wanted him to rebuild the defense. Well, this looks like a Zimmer-influenced pick all the way. His specialty is working with DBs and he had some highly-drafted CBs in Cincy. If he thinks Waynes is the right guy to add to his defense, why argue with it? If he knows what he's doing, then presumably he saw what he wanted in Waynes.

The pick makes sense, especially in the NFC North.

Doubt it happens. Of course that would make sense given how things are going so far.
