Jeff Locke had a decent game. Nothing great, but I think there's a little less to worry about now. First two punts he put inside the 10 yd line, which was great. Then he had one 48 yarder that outkicked the coverage and then three punts kicking away that were under 40 yards.

I thought Felder was a "mixed bag." He had some bad plays, but also had a couple of good ones (especially the 3rd down pass breakup in the end-zone).

I hate when reporters say "How wonderful of an honor is this" or "How incredible of a player is he". Just say "What are your thoughts on this" and let the interviewee put the adjectives in. Someday, it would be funny to hear "How awesome does this make you feel?" and the response would be "I hate it, it makes me feel like pond scum".

I thought he got pretty lucky on that play. The receiver landed on the ball and it popped out... not sure Felder had much to do with the incompletion.

I drove into town to see this game but it wasn't on. Got to watch Timmy Teabag play the Iggles and the return of Johnathan Broxton in Cincy.

I get back and read this 8 pages of uniform debate, complaining that Houston announcers being more concerned about Houston and cutting guys after the first preseason game. Holy crap...it's like walking into a beauty parlor and listening to a bunch of soccer moms get their nails done.

But that's just like....my opinion....man.

3 hope Floyd is ok. Sounds like CP84 will rock. I saw thev highlight of Ponders INT....looks like Simpson should've hauled that in to me. Ponder threw 2 passes and some peeps want him benched.....holy crap is all I can say.

I think that was the play before (and I agree - Felder was late and the receiver landed on the ball). The play I'm talking about was on the other side of the field (the next play after that one).

Wait. That isn't Joe Webb against the Packers?

Gotta get these glasses checked.

It was great to see the Purple on the field again. Overall it was a good showing until late and there are many things to work on during the week. There were good and bad on both sides of the ball. Recognition being a key point to work on.

Wow. I'm watching the game again right now and didn't notice that Sharrif Floyd was out in front blocking for Cordarrelle Patterson on that opening kickoff return. Impressive.

I really don't think Jerome Simpson had much of a chance of catching that pass from Ponder. If you're going to throw a ball that fast and that flat, it needs to be more accurate.

Yeah, Ponder over threw Simpson slightly, but I agree pulling him out after 2 snaps is dumb on the coaches part. This reminds of the game last year, I don't know who we were playing but we had a nice lead but Frazier decided to rest all of starters. And just to see Ponder on the sideline that game like he actually did something worth resting the 4th quarter for...lol

about the uniforms...
its the lighting of the metrodome that makes them look blueish, if at all.
the new stadiums roof will help bring in better lighting color (not that it was designed for that purpose.)
the helmets are matte, not satin.

about anyone being worse starter than ponder...
gabderp, sanchez, geno smith who will be replacing sanchez soon, matt flynn, whoever plays for bills, tanihill, brandon weden (maybe)

Maybe Ponder was told he'd play one series and that's just how it played out. But I would also like to hear a 'why for' on that one. I'll be really amazed if it's not one of the first questions asked of Fraizer.

First preseason game you're looking at as many 2nd and 3rd stringers as possible. When they get an idea of who is advancing and who isn't the coaches can get an idea of their depth chart. That will affect decisions for the rest of the camp. In the second and third preseason games you spend more time on sharpening up your starters. The fourth is a quarter or so at full speed and then the rest of the game is spent looking at the spots on the depth chart where they still have questions.
