I believe that's accurate. I think they begin debating it at 9 a.m. today. If it passes, it goes to the governor for his signature.

Also, a retractable roof is not out of the question, but it's clear the Vikings would have to pay for it. They're already paying $50million more than they wanted, so I doubt that they chip in the $25+ million more in addition to get it. Still, I hope Zygi finds a way to do it.

I wonder if they could do a naming rights thing... For example, if Target wanted to name the stadium, they could pay more and make it retractable? Or, 3M or something? It coule be "3M Roof at Target Stadium" 8)
But really, if it is only $25 mill, I would think they could figure out some way to get it done.

They may do the retractable roof because of soccer in addition to football.

Ok now i am excited! Ziggy has bent over backwards to keep this team in Minnesota. I doubt many other owners would have been as great as Ziggy has been through all of this. Ziggy is the man!

I will admit i am still nervous. Until that first shovel hits the ground to start this new stadium i wont start my celebration! But yeah this is awesome. I hope it doesnt get messed up now! Do the right thing lawmakers keep the Vikings in Minnesota!

I agrew with these sentiments, we are very fortunate to have an owner who has been this patient with this process. Ditto to the NFL, they could have made it a lot easier for the team to jump ship and move to LA.

Sen Marty (DFL): We should call it "Loser's Stadium" because it will be funded by statewide gambling. #Vikings
Sen Marty (DFL): Democrats abandoned commitment to early childhood, schools, health care for #Vikings stadium.
Marty (DFL): #Vikings will complain they don't like this stadium deal, but "the owners will be crying all the way to the bank".
Paraphrasing "The Gambler," Sen Kruse says it's time to "fold 'em": "The dealing is done, and we lost." #vikings

Wow. That's unbearably difficult to watch. It would be less painful driving nails into my skull.

So this still has to go to city council? I thought if the Senate passes it and the governor signs it, it's done.

The Council has to vote within 30d after it is passed. That is widely considered a formaility due to all the money it will bring in/keep in the city. The senate vote is the question mark.

Sen. Marty sounds like a real intellectual...
