In this video, Spielman looks at the Wilfs and say "patience".....I'm starting to believe that he is becoming more and more patient during the draft and in turn, he has gotten very good players the last two years. It looks like his original plan going into this draft was to take Rhodes at 23 and Patterson at 25. But with Floyd falling, he looked to make that trade.....check it out!!

Cool video! It's fun to see what it looks like when a trade like that actually goes down.

George Stewart has a really deep voice. It's like having Barry White in the war room as the WR coach. ;)

If only Frazier had gotten Patterson more involved earlier, I wonder if that would have made a difference this last year. Raw, but uber-talented player who I think would have helped a lot had he not played the same WR position as the Michael Jordan of WR's, Jerome Simpson...

I still think Johnny Manziel will be the best quarterback coming out of this class behind Bridgewater. I think taking a QB not named Bridgewater, Manziel, or Bortles with the 8th overall pick is a reach. The reality of the situation is we choked by winning 3 of our last 4. We should have had at very worst the 5th pick in the draft. Taking someone like Carr with the 8th pick will turn out just like Ponder. We have too many other issues to take that much of a gamble, I'd be happier if we took the best available defensive player, such as Mack or Mosley.
I also would not mind either trading up for a quarterback or trading down to stockpile picks. It is a pretty deep draft class in regard to quarterbacks so we could easily end up taking a quarterback like McCarron, Murray, or Mettanburger in the 2nd round, which I think would be our best bet.
I have confidence in our front office and in their drafting ability. It's improved these past few years under Spielmen, and hopefully whatever we do will work out for the best.

I have to admit, I am warming to the idea of drafting Johnny. There are certainly some red flags, but his upside is undeniable. I truly think he could be the type of player to turn a franchise around.

The thing is, and maybe it is clouding my judgement haha, but he is everything Ponder is not. He's a fierce competitor, he's not afraid to take risks passing the ball, and he has shown the ability to make plays when everything around him is going to hell. I like the Favre comparisons, that excites me. If the situation presents itself, I say we go get him.

If not, I say go defense at eight and take a long hard look at David Fales from San Jose State in the 2nd or 3rd round. The diamond in the rough of this draft in my opinion.

JFB would set this team back 3 years (just like we have been) and would cost Spielman his job. Which would be ok with me, but I hate to lose another 3 years on a shrimp QB that likes to run out of the pocket first. Its Teddy with the first pick, or a 2nd-3rd rd pick, like one of the ACL QBs, or Carr if he falls that far.

I think JFB is too much of a playmaker to ever set this franchise back. And 6'1 isn't a "shrimp" either.

5'11'' is. And please don't compare him to Brees or Wilson.

First off I Pondering Her Percy is right, you're wrong about JFB being a shrimp. He's 6'1. Second I don't know how you can say Carr would work out better than JFB. Carr would be a reach and he would turn out like the Ponder pick. JFB is the type of playmaker that has the ability to turn a whole franchise around. He's a good decision maker and he found a way to win at A&M with the worst D in the entire SEC. And, if you watched their bowl game with Duke, you know what I mean.

You'll get his real height at the combine.
Literally everything out there says he's 6'1 so I imagine he's as close as you can get to 6'1

First off don't tell me im wrong. Hes been listed from 5'11'' to 6'1''. He looks like a shrimp, and has an attitude of one. We wouldn't waste our first pick on Carr, plus Carr has an arm, Johnny Wannabe Football doesn't. And he's inaccurate, with some great receivers to bail him out. His style wont work in the NFL.

First off you're wrong. Literally 99% of everything I've found has listed him as 6'1. And actually, it seems as though he might've matured a little bit based on interviews and such. And he has a winning attitude. A natural leader. I don't think he's as innacurate as you think. He doesn't have great accuracy, but it's good, same with his arm. But reality is we can argue all we want but only time will tell. But I can't wait to see this kid prove you wrong.

I'm not seeing a 5'11 anywhere. Just because he "looks" like a shrimp to you doesn't mean he is one. Regardless, there are much shorter QB's out there that are doing just fine so I can't see that being that big of a factor. And inaccurate? According to who? He had a 69.9% completion percentage which was one of the best in college football. Even if WR's were to bail him out at times or not....that's still top notch no matter which way you look at it. So I have no clue how you can justify that he's "inaccurate". Bottom line is, he's a playmaker and knows how to win. Trust me....I wanted nothing to do with him a few months ago but the more I look into it, I think he will surprise many people.
