I thought he did a really good job answering the questions he received. Surprised he went into the kind of detail he did with his interactions with his son since the incident. To me that stuff is personal and is nobody's business; disappointed with the media for going there.

Thought it was important to hear him say he wants to be here.

At the conclusion when he walked away from the podium I noticed he put his arm around Speilman and they were smiling.

It's all good.

@TomPelissero One interesting response: when asked about Peterson's contract, Zimmer said he wouldn't discuss it but "I'll always fight for my players." So if Peterson's contract eventually is addressed ... have to wonder if Zimmer's the one who makes it happen.

I loved Peterson's opening comment about how it was great to see some familiar faces in the assembled press...but other faces not as much. I wonder if some of those reporters have burned their bridges with him.

I'm thinking a few of the columnists (like Souhan and Powers) might have and they're probably fine with that. I did find that line interesting.

I have to say, it feels good to see him running around with his teammates, smiling, wearing a Vikes jersey. It looks like they were happy to have him back too.

Zimmer really handled all of this well from the start. It's a scenario a lot of first time head coaches might have botched but he got it right. My respect for him just grows and grows. I sure hope he has a long, successful run with the Vikings.

I think AD just might be right about this.

I like the way both Peterson and Zimmer handled questions today.

I agree with those on twitter who have said hiring Zimmer is the smartest thing Spielman has done. He has made a lot of good player personnel decisions over the years but this team is just so different with Zimmer leading the way. I can't believe teams shied away from him for years because he was "brash" and "too honest".

There are many Packer fans at work who are getting really nervous now. The one guy said he thinks the Vikings are a darkhorse candidate for a deep postseason run now that AD is back. He also thinks (and I agree with him) that the way Zimmer handled this whole situation makes the players respect him even more and now he has the FULL respect of every player and coach on the team, and they know that HE IS IN CHARGE.
This has a lot of potential to be a very fun football season.

Lol. Idk if he is one of them, but there are quite a few of them where I work. Thankfully they are not the annoying types though.

Hmm, I will start proofreading my posts one of these days.

I meant, Teddy may not stop smiling.
