Unfortunately, that's very unlikely to happen. The NFL won't be expanding any time soon. I think 32 teams is just about the limit in the US. The only possibility would be some other bottom-of-the-barrel franchise moving in. But for that to happen, there would need to be a stadium plan already in place.

I think it's time to move on. You can't get blood out of a rock.

That's the problem because the replacement team scenario is NOT going to happen. If the Vikings leave, that's it. At least in our lifetimes.

Jerkoff Goodhal will put teams in Toronto and London before another one in Minnesota.

Tons of money spent, tons of time spent, truly Herculean effort to get it done. And it dies on straight politics. Republicans and Democrats who don't govern but rather argue over caucus politics and couch their votes on the number of Republicans or Democrats on a given side, not the issue at hand. What a joke has Minnesota politics become.

Minnesota does not deserve a team .. I love Vikings and my trip memories..

I would move them if I was an owner..

While I certainly don't want to go down that road, there are other teams in bad shape as well. Jags, Bills, Chargers come to mind. All those have legitimately small markets (Jacksonville should never have gotten a team). MN isn't huge, but it's not small either. I could see a replacement team within my lifetime.

But ... it's like the Wild replacing the North Stars. It'll never be the same.

I would too. And I've never heard the bar set at how much $$$ taxpayers get back from investments in anything, other than cases like this. Spineless politicians need to be publicly challenged on this one with an organized campaign of sorts, or this has a good chance at turning out very bad.

I started thinking about Jacksonville shorty after I posted that, but even then, the stars would have to align. I really don't see the other two happening, even though there's some theoretical rationalization behind them.

What else bothers me is that the Vikings are second priority to Goodhall. He's desperate for that 18 game schedule, and eventual teams in LA and even Canada and London.

me too. and i will follow them wherever they go. it's not the vikings i'm upset with. it's the select morons in the state of minnesota.

I don't understand the sentiment for a replacement team. Regardless of whether it's another small market franchise moving to Minny. They have a team now with an owner willing to spend a great deal of money...yet they can't get funding for the stadium for the Vikings, the team that has been here for decades. Where does the thinking begin that says they (Minnesotans) will build a new stadium for some other relocating franchise? It doesn't add up to me......unless the thought is that some other owner would move his team to Minny and pay for the entire stadium out of his own pocket. In which case I'd ask, Why would anyone do that for Minny when you see what's going on with the Vikings now?

If I owned the Jags and was looking for a new city, I sure wouldn't pick one in Minnesota....I look for somewhere like Oklahoma, Nebraska or one of the Carolinas to get a franchise first.

This whole thing is just hard to believe. It's a great franchise with a colorful history...yet they haven't had a resident owner in in quite some time and the politicians don't seem to give a damn about doing the right. ( Not surprised by that).

Also, I would not blame the Wylfs at all if they decided to move the team. From what I can gather, they been doing their level best to get this done.
