lol. Too funny!

I just read one of NFL.com's draft do-overs the other day. They had the Vikings taking Mallett instead of Ponder--just as you mentioned. Odd. I'm not sure how they can be so sure he'd be so great. He must ride that bench like a true Pro. lol.

The best LB in the draft, for the Vikes, and their Tampa/Cover 2 Def., is Teo.

I think the most Underrated ILB in this draft is Jon Bostic. I hope vikings draft this kid with their 2nd round pick. He ran a 4.61 in the 40,and had solid combine workout. On some of the highlights, he reads and sniffs out plays before they happen. Which means he studies films, and would be ideal for a cover 2 defense.

I like Bostic. He's probably my 3rd favorite option for MLBs behind Brown and Te'o. Kid is all over the field. But alot of analysts have him graded as a 3-4th rounder some have him as an early 3rd. I just fear he wont be there when we want him without having to reach.

I agree. I posted a Jon bostic reply in another thread and no one replied. I think he'd be a solid MLB

Awesome, the positions of most need, WR and LB look to have some pretty good depth. I'm starting to think more and more if we could trade one of our first rounders for a second and an extra 3rd + 5th or so that might be a really good idea and we can move around more and target guys like Bostic.

Everyone said that about Mallett a few years ago when we should have picked him over Ponder. Doesnt that apply now? Maybe Teo's GF made Olgetree have no control, who knows?
I don't know - Mallett hasn't had a real chance in the pros yet.

I'm not dismissing Olgetree's issues, either on-field or off-field. He's not a "safe" pick per se, but in my view he has a much higher ceiling than any of the other MLB prospects the Vikings could draft in the 1st round.

What I do know is that neither you nor I have the full story on Ogletree, certainly not enough to label him as you did. I'm going to trust the Vikings to make the final determination as to whether he's the right guy to draft should he be there at either #23 or #25.

WRs are deep up to the 4th round

MLBs drop off after the first 5, thing is that they are spread between 3 rounds. Minter, Te'o, Brown and Ogletree are 1st rounders. Bostic and Alonso are 2-3 rounders their stock is all over the place.

DTs are just as deep. You can get a quality DT in round 3 or 4

FWIW: Peter King Tweeted that Te'o had dinner with Spielman before ND's pro day.

Rick ordered it, but the only thing that came out was an empty plate. He pretended to eat it anyway.
