I think Toby has been solid for us and he will be resigned for a reasonable deal, provided someone else doesn't over pay or trade for him sooner. He seems to do a lot of things well...specifically gain yards and catch the ball. He fits this scheme pretty well IMO. I doubt he becomes cost prohibitive assuming something is done about KWill and Gerald's contracts~

Before the combine even before the Super Bowl my hope for minn was to draft Robert Woods or Tavon Austin. Austin was my favorite especially after we lost Percy! Since then I've done some more homework and watched a lot of film, Keenan Allen should be our wr we pick out the draft. Patterson seems to be a lock to go first an Austin shortly after. I think with Allen's injury an Patterson an Austin's stock rising, Keenan falling in our lap will be a blessing in disguise. He's not the fastest or most explosive but i think he has the best hands and is a complete competitor. Plus has the experience, Patterson is an outstanding athlete but is raw and hasn't played but one year of competitive college ball. Just with the eye test, I'm probably by myself on this, but I think Allen is the best wr in the draft. Can play on the inside as we'll as the outside and is elusive enough to return kicks. Runs crisp routes an can stick his foot in the ground on comebacks. Though he ran a slow 40 time he is alot faster on tape an turns into a beast after the catch. I think his skill set best fits our west coast offense and will compliment Jennings on the other side. Anybody agree or disagree? I can almost bank he will be our pick given our draft position and need. Take another look at the kid an tell me what u think.

In case you were wondering he is my pick at 25 because I think Vikes go defense with the 23 pick Desmond Trufant, Manti Teo, Sylvester Williams, Alec Ogletree, Xavier Rhodes..........

I'm on the Keenan Allen wagon too! Before his injury, Allen was the top tier receiver on most peoples boards. If he had been able to participate in the combine, prodays etc, I most certain think he would be in the conversation for first receiver taken in the draft.
Also, this might be the "boom or bust" year for Christian Ponder, which causes me to think, that we shouldn't draft such a raw talent as Patterson. Sure his potential is high, but with our QB situation, we need a receiver who can step in now and produce.

With that being said, I still think we should wait until the 2nd round to draft a wideout. The position is deep on those WRs, and our defence could use 2 new starters from our 2 firstround picks

I havent seen much from allen thats as impressive as Woods or DObson. i think D for our 1st two picks would be what we need.

The more that time goes by, the more and more Manti and Woods are growing on me as perfect fit for what the Vikings are looking for. If we have predictions for their first round then I think that's where I'm leaning.

Sylvester Williams - DT - Tar Heels

NFL.com's Bucky Brooks listed UNC DT Sylvester Williams as a blue chip player.

Williams is one of 15 players Brooks listed in the category, which is defined as "players dominated the college competition, for the most part, while exhibiting the traits that traditionally translate into long-term success at the NFL level." Williams has a good motor and ability to push the pocket but we found him to be inconsistent in finishing plays. He's been mentioned as a possible first-round pick in the past.

D.J. Hayden - DB - Cougars

National Football Post's Russ Lande writes Houston CB D.J. Hayden could go in the top 40 picks.

"...we have heard through NFL personnel that Hayden has been cleared medically by most teams and has made a big climb up draft boards... As one veteran NFL evaluator told us, Hayden is the most natural of the cornerbacks when it comes to coverage skills and ability to make plays on the ball. Additionally, teams like that Hayden consistently flies up the field and shows no willingness to make hard hits/tackles. For a player that scouts thought was done playing football after his injury, do not be shocked when his name gets called within the first 40 picks on the 2013 NFL Draft."

Dee Milliner - DB - Player

Speaking on his pre-draft conference call, NFL Network's Mike Mayock said he doesn't think a cornerback will be picked in the top-ten.

Alabama's Dee Milliner has been the only name floated around as a top-ten pick, possibly as high as No. 2 to the Jaguars or No. 6 to the Browns. The Jets at No. 9 have also been linked to Milliner, and that could gain steam once Darrelle Revis is traded. The Dolphins hold the 12th pick, and they're said to be "very high" on Milliner. Mayock has vaulted Houston's D.J. Hayden ahead of Milliner as his No. 1 cornerback in the draft.

After doing a bit of research I'm officially on record as a DJ Hayden fan. If we want him, we'll have to probably snag him in the first round.

Love that he always looks to be in position to make a play on the ball, weather it's an interception or breaking up the pass. His break on the ball looks pretty good too on those short passes, kinda Asante Samual like, I could see a lot of pick 6's for him.

As for his story it's pretty insane, 95% of people die from that, he's a mini freak near AD level. Most people stay in the hospital for 6 weeks after that, Hayden was out in 6 days, went from 195 to 160 while in the hospital! Comes back stronger than ever and runs a 4.3 40 only months later!

I can see why Mayock has him #1, the only concerning thing is that injury was pretty crazy but the medical staff says he's good to play with no limitations so if he's there at #23 I hope we're considering it.
