If the Vikes get Teo and one of the top WRs then I will be delighted

Top players wanted:
1. DeAndre Hopkins
2. Arthur Brown
3. Sylvester Williams
4. Desmond Trufant

I found it relieving that supposedly the majority of fans agree that Hopkins and Brown would be the best fits. I would attach the article but it was on the phone app. I usually don't agree with anything bleacher report says, and found that the majority of fans don't either based on the comments left lol. "What are you smoking!?! The Panthers are not going to deft a LB, you are high on something and need to share!"

You gotta check out the comments sometime.

I think it would be cool to start a thread that is titled "one player the Vikings must draft and why" just to see what everyone's analysis is on their favorite player.

I honestly think those first two choices could very well happen.

Nick Saban may be a jerk, but he also knows how to go after a weakness and destroy it if he can.

And so Teo is going to do better when he sees better than Bama EVERY Sunday?

What's weird is that some seem to be turning their noses up at that. Notre Dame lost to Bama but went 12-1 for the season, beating Oklahoma, Stanford, and Michigan among others along the way. I didn't get to see ND play until the BCS game but I remember reading before the game that their D allowed something like only 12 points a game, and that was against some big offenses. Somebody on their D was doing something right.

No offense, but Oklahoma and USC were the only decent offenses ND faced in the regular season. And they had two very close games against teams that had no business beating them, and I don't include their lucky Standfor win, either.

In my opinion, one game does not make or break a player. Teo played lights out his whole entire career and I did not see anyone pursue and get to the ball carrier and tackle any better than he did at his position. . At one point, many analysts had him pegged as the best player in the country. Everyone has their own opinions (goes without saying) but I believe that Teo will be an outstanding pro.

Oh jeeze, and Teo will be playing with his ND unit in the NFL? You've made a decent argument but things like this really just makes it look like you're out to smear Teo. Teo's job in the NFL will be to play solid MLB for someone, not carry the entire team to a championship. (which he almost did.)

Sheesh! You act as if no good player has ever had a bad game. Even great players have bad games. Sometimes a defense just gets steamrolled by a good offense and it happens to good defenses and good players, not just bad defenses and bad players.

Te'o played an entire college career, not just one bad game against Alabama, and the players he faced in that Alabama game weren't the only ones who will end up playing at the next level. If his bad game against the Crimson Tide is a reason not to draft him than NFL teams might want to cross just about every other defensive player that played against Alabama last year off their boards too because that team made a LOT of defenders look bad.

Please, and you surmise all of that from that one sentence?

If every player who had a bad game in their college career was not worth drafting, well the draft would be a very long and painful event, as every team would simply pass their pick to the next team for hours on end, as no player would ever get drafted

If you honestly think that's my argument, in any way shape or form, see you on draft ay, because I think we will all be pleased.

I know, I was simply being facetious.

I'm simply pointing out the Alabama game, while certainly a part of Te'o's evaluation, shouldn't hold as much weight as you seem to be placing on it. I think your confidence in the fact that we won't take him is misguided. Not saying it will happen, and certainly the odds are in your favor to make such a bold statement, but I think there's at least a very realistic possibility that you will be eating your words in 11 days

No, from what you've expressed in this thread.

I posted this in another topic but it is seems more apropos to post it here. "In the past ten years, the top 64 picks have produced 14 receivers who have had over 800 yards from scrimmage in their rookie year (out of 79 who played in games). Of those, only four chosen between pick 23 and 52 produced 800 yards (out of 36 who played games). This doesn't include those who haven't made an impact in games, like A.J. Jenkins."

Jones is definitely worthy of a draft pick but he seems like a reach at #23 or #25 when he's projected to go after the first round, possibly as late as the third or fourth. I think he'd be a nice addition to the line so it's a good idea, I just don't think they'd need to use one of their first round picks to draft him.
