The 2013 NFL draft has 4 blue chip OT:

Luke Joeckel
Eric Fisher
Lane Johnson
DJ Fluker

I am sure one of them will fall to 23. Before the Harvin trade I would have sweated this, but I'm OK with letting Loadholt go if he wants more money.

wow. Not sure about Revis, I guess it depends on what they'd give up.
He's a great talent but seems like he'd be wasted in the Vikings Cover 2 scheme. Also, who knows how he'll play post injury.

It would not be good to lose Loadholt, particularly to the Bears.

A backup plan is Eric Winston. For some perspective, he signed a four-year, $22 million contract with the Chiefs in March of 2012.
I think this could just be a ploy by the Bears to drive up the price on Loadholt.

I was going to post that Loadholt is exactly the kind of lineman Tice would want ... but he's not there anymore lol

On the positive side, I sure wouldn't mind seeing some Phil Loadholt vs. Everson Griffen confrontations. I think the Vikings get the upper hand in that matchup and Jay Cutler gets his head torn off.

I was thinking the same thing. Loadholt might get the best of Robison and Griffen in some run situations but with their speed off the edge, I think they'd give him fits.

Ob the loadholt, thing; IF it follows that Spielman is going to make a big splash at need positions in FA this year, it would free up a pick fpr an Olineman. He could let phil walk, get a bit more wiggle room to sign say , Revis and jennings, than draft an Olineman and a WR in the first round.

Maybe...

Of course like any team, the Bears can cut players and restructure some contracts,
but as of today, they don't even have the cap space to sign their future draftees...

Thanks for the info. Here's slightly more on the subject:
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Vikings have reached an agreement with Jerome Simpson on a one-year deal.

This isn't likely to quell the anxiety of Vikings fans who on Monday watched their most unique playmaker exit stage left. There's no quick fix to replacing Harvin. Simpson is nothing more than a depth move.

Hopefully, Simpson will stay healthy and play at a higher level in 2013.

Nice web site. Yeah, the Bears really are hurting. Not a good place to be, with a 32 year old DE counting over $16M against their cap.

Looking at the Vikings, you gotta wonder how Charlie Johnson hasn't been forced to restructure yet. I suppose the Vikings just don't have many options at guard. Whoever Charlie Johnson's agent is, he should get some kind of bonus for finding his client the perfect employer.

Restructure ? I wonder why hasn't been cut yet ?

Since the staff seems to be so high on Fusco (it's their job to see things I don't),
I wonder if either him or Geoff Schwartz can play left guard.

Doesn't matter since we gonna sign Andrew Levitre but... shhh... :D

Schwartz is a UFA and has indicated he won't be back because he wants a starting job somewhere. If the Vikings lose Phil Loadholt they're going to be in a world of hurt and just might have to go begging for a RT before worrying about their lack of talent at guard. I've got a feeling that the Vikings are going to be very busy in free agency repopulating the backups on the offensive line.

Which again is why I think we need to go after Oline in draft and FA first, rather then WRs and LBs. We have alot of picks, get the WRs with the lower ones.

I know he wants to start and I'm trying to find him a job.

I think he's better than both Fusco and Johnson, that's why I asked if either him or Fusco could play
LG since IMHO, letting Johnson go would be a good move, both field-wise and cap-wise.

And he was playing RT for Carolina, just in case we don't re-sign Loadholt.
