I think it'd be a brilliant/Belichickian move to have this game feature AD and Patterson. We've all seen (or not seen) Patterson's lack of playing time. There's a good chance Denver won't be studying him much. I'd love for Norv to put together a creative game plan that has Denver's defense playing on its heels because of creative scheming to get Patterson (and/or Diggs of CJ can't go) involved early and often on screens, slants, sweeps, rush attempts, etc. I just think a traditional game plan doesn't favor this offense vs. Denver's defense right now.
With Denver's big-legged kicker and playing at Mile High, Patterson won't get any kickoff return opportunities either. Come on, Norv, let's see what you got.

It's funny..
-Our offense put up +2 more points than the Broncos against the Lions defense.
-Our defense allowed +4 more points than the Broncos against the Lions Offense.
Both of our defenses forced 3 Turnovers against the Lions (MIN - 2FF, 1 INT) (DEN - 2INT, 1FF)
-Our offense had 1 turnover (FF) against the Lions.
-The Broncos had 2 turnovers (1INT, 1FF) against the Lions.
-Our defense had 1 sack against the Lions.
-The Broncos defense had 4 sacks against the Lions.
-Our O-line gave up 1 sack.
-The Bronco's gave up 1 sack.
-Ted went 14/181531TD0INT vs. Lions
-Peyton went 31/42 324 2TD 1INT vs. Lions
Stafford went:
-32/53 2862TD1INT vs. us
-31/45 282 1TD 0INT vs. DEN
I think Denver did a slightly better job, even though we held him to a worse completion %.
-Adrian went for 29-134 against the Lions.
-The Broncos entire offense went for 19-41 against the Lions.
-The Lions went for 19-28 vs. the Broncos
-The Lions went for 16-38 vs. Us (20 of that to Stafford)
Both Pass defense vs. the Lions excelled with the possible slight edge going to DEN for getting 2INT and allowing 1TD.
The one thing that also gets me is Denver put up 10-0 in the 4th Quarter vs. DET, and we got beat 3-7 in the 4th Quarter vs. DET
Tough to compare both games because the Vikes played them at home and the Broncos played them at the Lion's home. Reverse the home fields and I believe the out comes are totally different stat wise but the Vikes still win but the Broncos "crush" the Lions in their "house".

Denver is opening as 6.5 point favorites in Las Vegas. I think it goes like this. If we get to Manning like we did to Stafford and Rivers, the Vikings can win. If not, it will be loss. I suspect Manning will be in shotgun or pistol as they call it, most of the game. He will try to roll away from the defense whenever he can. Saw him do it several times against the Lions. Denver's offense didn't really impress me much last night. Not that the Vikings are doing much better, but he record of the teams the Broncos beat so far is 1-7. They beat the Ravens on an Int return for a TD and the Chiefs on a fumble return for a TD. Hold the line on turnovers.

The thing that excites me is that it isn't too difficult to come up with a plausible scenario for this team beating Denver on the road, and even a loss needn't be a blowout.
I think the preseason had myself and others too invested in this "San Fran defines the season" line of reasoning. We could beat Denver on the road and be 3-1 in a very rough stretch of games. Even 2-2 plausibly keeps us in not just wild card but divisional discussion, especially with the Lions and the Bears at 0-3.
I just think Peyton-Bridgewater and a road game...Yikes. A 7 to 14 point loss is plausible, but so is a close victory.
The thing that gives me confidence is our performance against the Lions and the Chargers. the defense is real and Peterson is Peterson.
Teddy has to put up 220 or so, limit turnovers and not get turned into hamburger meat by a great Denver D.
i think this game will be very exciting and intense.
17-14 vikes.
Teddy and AP do just enough, I think Manning gets crumpled by the collapsing pocket our DL will do to that poor OL. Which sucks the life out of the broncos, blair hits the winner.

I have been reading the Broncos message boards and it seems the consensus is that their offensive line is terrible. They can't run the ball and a lot of peeps are scared Manning is going to get crushed against the Vikings.

Good news for us!
Yep no Clady for one, the OL is bad, who is their best OLmen? Evan Mathis? Linval Joseph tossed him around back when Linval was at New York and Mathis was in philly.

Sounds like some fans are paying attention (unlike some Chargers fans that had some "featured comments" posted here last week). I have to admit, it feels damn good (at least after two weeks) to have a defense that is becoming feared and known for suffocating rush defense and repeated, hard hits on the quarterback (if only they could get home a few more times for the actual sack).

Up until Zimmer we had spent almost all of Manning's career with a subpar defense, his history is no surprise.
This is a chance for redemption for our OL, but I'm not sure their up to the task, this will be an enormous test for them. If AP can get going on this defense though, look out. AP ran great against a Wade Phillips Defense in Houston a few years ago, so it can be done.
Teddy will need to make some plays to win this one. I expect (and hope for) a tough, tight game. I really want to see the Vikings go in there and earn a win.

Honestly; If Teddy plays well, AP breaks 100, and the defense is stout again I think we will break Denver hard. We will probably end up being the galvanizing punch to their jaw that wakes them up and has them start actually dominating their opponents rather than scrambling for wins. I could easily see us beating them like 31-17 (if this goes well) and them roflstomping through the rest of the season afterwards.
*If that happens it obviously goes without saying that we will make Clausen look like an all star and lose 0-36 to the bears the following week*
