Mama Burfict replied, "Vontaze, that is the kind of coach you want to play for. He'll make you great."

Vontaze is the NFL's leading tackler. Mama, as usual, was right.
Good stuff. :)

Zimmer's is another one of those personalities that you have to wonder how well it would translate to the position of head coach. I'm not so sure it would be great.

 That's awesome. Zimmer has been my #1 choice for a while now. I hope to God we make a move towards him

What kind of an offense would a Zimmer install? Nobody doubts his defensive abilities.

He may not install any offense, preferring to hire an OC and delegate the responsibility. This wouldn't surprise me at all, he is a defesnive minded caoch

So, what you're saying is that he's 1/2 a head coach?

Thats why I asked. The offense he installs is the OC he hires. Do we have the slightest notion what his offensive tendencies are? Maybe they are run run pass. Or worse, run run run punt. I don't think we know, and defensive minded coaches always worry me when it comes to offense. Obviously he's a great DC, if we could get him for that it would be awesome. But HC? I need more information. How can anyone say he'd make a great one when 1/2 of what he'd do is giant QUESTION MARK?

Hmm. 57 years old. Seems rather old for a first time head coach these days. Why has he never been a head coach? Has spent the last fourteen seasons as a DC for three different NFL teams.

Its working for his D. Why not HC? I know our team is spoiled with an idiot like Fraizer is in charge, but once Zimmer toughens them up, we might actually have a D.

Because a good defense is a bunch of thugs, and a good offense is a bunch of prima donnas.

I would almost guarantee this. Same with a guy like Horton.

Both seem like good candidates but who they bring in as OC would be crucial.

What about who Zimmer might bring in as DC? Are you automatically assuming that Zimmer would both install the defense and call the plays? Frazier is a former DC, but we still blame Alan Williams for most of the problems with the Vikings' defense.

Hire Zimmer as a DC if that's all he's done for the past fourteen years and what he's good at. The fact that he's never been an NFL head coach while closing in on 60 years old should be something of a red flag. I've said it before... the next great Vikings coach will be much closer to 30 than to 60.
