Both are great players, but that doesn't necessarily translate into a good coach. (Look no further than Mike Singletary for an example). It doesn't mean they can't be good coaches, but I don't know that I want to give either one their first Head Coaching job without some method of gauging their performance as a
coach. If they had spent some time as a coordinator or positions coach, maybe...

I think they need someone with more coaching experience.

Dusty Baker is available.
I think the whole group is terminal.....I've totally soured on Spielman. We haven't had a real football guy since Denny Green when it comes to bulding a team. His coaching was lacking but he put together impressive teams here and in AZ.
I've been in the camp that Spielman deserves to pick his own coaches and a chance to tweak the schematic philosophy on both sides of the ball. Now I'm not so sure I can get behind the way he operates and judges talent.

I'd rather see some other fanbase get behind it.
Last season, I thought I saw a unified vision for the team coming together, with both Frazier and Spielman contributing to it. Maybe that was illusory. I don't know...
I'd like to see Spielman get out in front of the situation this week, answer some questions and articulate just what the hell the Vikings are trying to accomplish right now. They certainly weren't trying to win last night. If they were, Ponder would have seen action in that game (and before anyone freaks out, I'm saying Ponder, not Cassel, because he was the designated #2 QB in the game and consequently, the player who would have come in if Freeman had been benched).

Yeah, I would like to hear him do some truth talking as well. It's fishy and I have concerns about the Wilfs knowledge/ability in all of it. They haven't invested much effort in FO and HC hires IMO.

When, in the last 40 years, has there been any coach who has won a Super Bowl with one team that has won the Super Bowl with a different team?

It hasn't been done. Several head coaches have been there with more than team but even that is pretty rare. Holmgren came close to pulling it off when he was in Seattle but they came up short.

Anyone who REALLY thinks the Seahawks shouldn't have won them game either didn't watch, or is a complete imbecile.
I mean REALLY, does anyone ACTUALLY think the Steelers weren't completely handed that game so Cowher and Bettis could ride off into the sunset?

LOL! Off the top of my head: Shula, Reeves, Parcells, Vermeil and Holmgren are the head coaches who have been to the Super Bowl with more than one team. All but Reeves won at least once.
Fox has a chance to do it this year.
On a sort of related note: I was wondering the other day if Tony Dungy is the only head coach who has the distinction of coaching two teams that went to the Super Bowl the year
after he left them. Gruden took TB all the way in his first year following Dungy in Tampa Bay and the Colts went back to the Super Bowl under Caldwell the year after Dungy retired.

Wouldn't be horrible? Are u nuts? This guy turned around the Bucs in one year to win the SB.
"Turned around" is a bit strong. He took a team that Dungy built (and made the playoffs 4 out of 6 years - including 1 NFCC game) and arguably got them "over the hump". When they fired Dungy, the Bucs were 9-7. He got them 3 more wins and a SB. I don't think that is "turning around" a team. Lastly:
Dungy's Winning % with TB - .563
Gruden's Winning % w/TB - .509

The only Super Bowls he won as a head coach were with Miami.
(Technically Jim McMahon was the only QB winning SB rings with Bears and Packers, but he didn't really play in GB.) Holmgren was 1/2 with two teams and I feel like there was at least one more HC that was 1/2 as well. The most recent QB to enter that category was Kurt Warner. Trendwise, that's what makes if difficult for the Broncos, since their QB and HC both lost their most recent SB appearances. No HC or QB to lose a SB has ever come back to win one since the 80's. Shula's return to the SB in '85 was a loss, Peyton lost in '09, Warner lost in '08, Holmgren lost in '97 & '05, Brady/Belichek lost in '07 & /11. The only exception was John Elway after a 10 year layoff.
Interesting! I wonder if the Broncos can break that trend.

Time for The Coach to go. He has no eye for talent. No offense. Terrible D. Just not a good coach. Send him packing. 2 years have been terrible. Sure glad we didn't need Percy. But had to keeo Ponder. Poor poor personel mgmt

Dick Vermeil? Lost in 1980 with PHI only to win in 1999 with STL?
Cowher? Lost in 1995 but won in 2005?
Gibbs? Lost in 1983, won in 1991?
Bledsoe (technicality) lost in 1996, won a ring in 2001-- helped get them there anyway...
