My theory about the curse is that the Vikings were set to join the afl then backed out and took the offer from the nfl instead. Should have honored their word to the AFL.

Interesting thought. And had they, which division would they be in and who would they have ended up playing in the Super Bowl if they had made it there? AFL West or East?Laserman wrote:My theory about the curse is that the Vikings were set to join the afl then backed out and took the offer from the nfl instead. Vikings fan since Nov. 6, 1966. Annoying Packer fans since Nov. 7, 1966

I say we hold a Viking parade rally. Except, everybody walks backwards. No questions, no mentions of a curse; as that would defeat the whole purpose.

My guess would be the East because of our closer proximity to the East coast teams than Houston who would have ended up in the West. Then we would have played Green Bay in super bowl 1 and 2 and won them both. The Lombardi trophy would have been called the Van Brocklin xD. Bud Grant would have ended up with the Lions. And in '82 we would have drafted Heisman winner Marcus Allen instead of Darrin Nelson. Yep, I think Raptorman is on to something, our "curse" began when we stood up the AFL.Raptorman wrote: Interesting thought.
