Im sorry but when did John Sullivan become such a fan favorite? The O-Line is very overrated because Peterson will get his yards regardless. I've seen him run over his own men to make a play. Then when it comes to passing, Ponder is so quick to throw a screen or check down, you serious can't give the O-Line credit for that. The only guy who has shown something on the line is Matt Kalil. He actually holds a block until the whistle is blown.

Matt Birk was a true center. Im not saying Sully is terrible but he is very overrated.

Just think about that potential new QB: Will they be too short? Weak arm? Not ranked highly enough prior to the draft? Ranked TOO high before the draft? Which less than ideal characteristic or circumstance will be The Big Flaw to be harped on relentlessly?

The suspense is palpable.

Now you've got me nervous. What if the potential new QB isn't a statue and actually has some mobility?

Forget what I said in another post, you are pretty amazing :? Sullivan is one of the best centers in the NFL and despite what you say AD has a very good run blocking o-line with Kalil, Sullivan and Loadholt. Of course AD does not need anyone to block for him anyway (they just get in his way)
http://www.dailynorseman.com/2013/5/2/4 ... est-center:
But John Sullivan has really played well the past couple of years, and at least one source tabs him as the best center in the National Football League. Pro Football Focus, in continuing their look at the NFL's best players from 2012, has Sullivan ranked at #26 overall. Centers: John Sullivan (MIN) and Jonathan Goodwin (SF)
Much like the AFC, you could make a case for a number of other guys. I get why people would pick Will Montgomery or Max Unger, but I really like centers who can handle big defensive tackles. Sullivan is playing as well as anyone right now, with Goodwin not far off that pace.

LOL!

Imagine if things go well in 2013 and they don't even need to replace the QB next year! What a disaster that would be... ;)

Seriously, hopefully most of the experiments on this Vikings team will end up yielding positive results and Ponder will firmly establish himself as the right man for the QB job, Webb will establish himself as a legitimate WR, Patterson will become an impact player, etc. After the huge step forward the Vikes took last season, it would be nice to see them build on that progress with an even better, more encouraging season this year.

The only people I here praising Sullivan are Vikings fan. I dont see anyone else in the league talking that high about him. I dont know if it's Ponder or the O-Line but Ponder doesn't even look comfortable when he's in the pocket. I guess I need to look at Sully close this season because I dont see whats so special about him.

And LoadHolt, aka the Penalty Machine, is excellent with run blocking but sucks in pass protection.

Matt Kalil is the best player on the O-Line, the O-Line was garbage until he came.

You are being ridiculous. He was voted to the Pro Bowl as an alternate " The Vikings have three alternates. They are linebacker Chad Greenway, who made his Pro Bowl debut last year; rookie left tackle Matt Kalil; and center John Sullivan, who would be making his first appearance" http://www.startribune.com/sports/vikin ... 78361.html. Those were not just purple, mindless zombie viking fans that voted him in. Again Loadholt is highly thought of by most people that know much about football as being one of the best run blockers in the NFL.

I don't know where you've been, but John Sullivan has received a LOT of accolades over the past several seasons.

My biggest reservation about Sullivan is that he sometimes gets walked back in his stance in pass protection, collapsing the pocket. I think a lot of that, though, has to do with the guards playing next to him, as the interior lineman often team block defensive tackles and have to adjust to stunts and blitzes. Having Brandon Fusco and Charlie Johnson on his flanks hasn't helped him any.

I really hope WR works out for the guy. I only wished that the organization had switched him over sooner. Back when they had less depth at the position. Every WR corps needs a guy with his physical skills to counter press coverage.
