Brad Childress ran him over with a zamboni on Christmas eve 2011. Good ole Zeke....now I need a beer.
Actually it's any excuse for a zamboni reference....those things are awesome.MelanieMFunk wrote: Nice. Any excuse for a beer, right?![]()
I don't drink, but here ya go:
It kinda looks like a yellow snowball. Perhaps a rowdy fan throwing a beer soaked snowball at Pearson? But then again it appears to bounce so maybe a ball of some sort? You know it almost looks like Krause stopped because of that yellow object and when we think he's pointing at Pearson, he's actually pointing in the direction where the thrown object came from.Just Me wrote:was that a "yellow leaf" that comes flying across where the Offensive PI takes place?
Ahhh criminy, now I gotta go watch it again because I don't remember that happening.80 PurplePride 84 wrote:You know something that's never talked about? Gary Anderson was ran into on the infamous miss in 98.
Sometimes it's just good therapy to talk about all these old painful feelings. And I don't know about anyone else, but the more I watch those old painful games or highlights the less and less painful they become.MelanieMFunk wrote:You guys are just full of great memories today.![]()

Wow. Vikings fans aren't desperate at all to win a Super Bowl are they?J. Kapp 11 wrote:I recently read that it was an orange.
No kidding.

You can't make this stuff up.
I constantly see this claim made by fans, and think that the majority of people stating it have never even seen the play, yet they regurgitate it as if it were a given. The play was referenced most recently in the SB Vikings thread and I didn't want to steer that thread off topic. You'd think the Vikings missed the 1975-76 Super Bowl by the thinnest of margins, but they were knocked out by the Cowboys in the first round.PurpleMustReign wrote:What is the point of this thread? i've seen this stated several times over the years but have never found anything to back up the claim that pearson admitted to pushing off. even as late as a few years ago he still maintained he didn't. anyone have a link of this so called confession?losperros wrote: Nope. It's a result of Pearson pushing off, at least according to Pearson it is. He admitted it later. So unless Pearson is lying, he pushed off. Case closed.
Krause was deep enough, as can be seen in the replay. He was just a split second too late. Any deeper and he'd have been in the end zone. As to whether or not he pulled up on the play ... maybe. To get to the ball he would have had to go through Nate Wright, so I don't think it's that odd. Like you say, either the CB defends the pass or he doesn't. Once Pearson hauled in the ball (which he wasn't even sure he had caught) it was only two steps into the end zone.VikingLord wrote:Also, on the push play, I've always wondered why Wright was singled up on Pearson to begin with. Why wasn't Krause or another safety deeper and in better position to help? Even if Wright and Pearson had both jumped for the ball, in that situation you don't want your DB locked up in single coverage if you can possibly help it. Some see Krause as giving up on the the play, but I see him as just realizing he can't make a play because he's not in a position to make one. In that situation it's either Wright makes it or Pearson scores.
hmmm....
