He looked like a beast in college. But he hasn't really panned out like some of us thought he would. I don't see him getting trade this off-season, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone before September 2014.

Keeping Toby for 1-2 more years lets us draft elsewhere the next 1-2 years. Besides, he has very little wear an tear.

No arguments there. And while he hasn't been spectacular, he's done absolutely everything asked of him while being given little opportunity to do more. But if you can get a draft choice for him this year, you can use it (or any of your other picks) to grab a running back. You won't have that luxury next year.
The Vikings might be happy to have him back after 2013, but he should know by now that he's not going to get many more opportunities in the future, either. Nor should he expect a very lucrative contract out of the Vikings, with Peterson making a billion dollars a year and Felton at over $2M.
