Thank you for posting these numbers. I always knew the indoor/outdoor stadium arguments were a little foolish. It is what it is. Assuming we were "better" because we played outdoors is kinda like the post hoc fallacy. There has to be better reasoning than that! The Vikes have a great home field advantage and should be able to get it done. Someday we will. Then we can put this "outdoor stadium" stuff to rest.Reignman wrote:Interesting that they went with the road whites and purple pants in 62 and 64.
Not that we haven't had our chances, we're 0-4 in conference championships since moving indoors. However only 1 of those was played at the dome. We were 4-1 in CC's when we played outdoors. 3 of them at the met (3-0).
We've had better home field advantage indoors .642 (154-86-0) at the dome vs .622 (97-57-4) at the met. It's our road record that took a dive when we moved indoors .418 (100-139-0) on the road in the dome era vs .512 (77-73-5) on the road during the met era.

Re: Vintage Vikings
Was Joe Kapp still with the team in 1970? I see Gary Cuozzo's name, but no Joe Kapp.

Re: Vintage Vikings
No. Kapp's last game with the Vikings was the Super Bowl loss to K.C. in 1969-70. He had a contract dispute with the Vikings that offseason and they traded him to the Patriots. He played one year there.BGM wrote:Was Joe Kapp still with the team in 1970? I see Gary Cuozzo's name, but no Joe Kapp.
