I'd probably be pretty buzzed and vocal at a Vikes game......home game anyway. You've painted a good picture for me.

If that is the case--you'd fit right in. lol. I love the bickering that goes on with opposing fans, too. That is hilarious! So, while it is okay to get lippy as a Vikings fan in the Dome, I wouldn't advise you to do that on the road. We don't like those obnoxious idiots in the Dome--so I'm assuming other fans feel the same way in their own house.
I remember two seasons ago against the Raiders, there was a Vikings fan behind me that was TOTALLY obnoxious but he was the best. I wish I would have gotten his info, to sit around him in the future. lol. Every time the Raiders got a penalty (which was A LOT) he'd yell "Cheeeeaaaatteerrs Cheeeeaaaaatteerrs Cheeeeaaaatteerrs!!!" It was all slow-mo too. It was the most obnoxious thing EVER, but it was hilarious! It made me feel a little bit better about the embarrassing stuff going on on the field.
Attending home games are truly special. No doubt about it!

That's not far away, Oz is far away......in more ways than one.

And I thought I had it bad in England. It's a dream of mine to eventually attend all of the major football events (Draft, Super Bowl, Pro Bowl etc) and it would be wonderful to include an official Vikes draft party

Great Jebus... The Draft and Pro Bowl are the furthest thing from major football events. If you think they are, then you've been thoroughly brainwashed by the NFL marketing team. A Saturday evening high school football game in Texas is a far bigger event.

Good! You were the one I was referring to in my original post when I mentioned ONE person "considering it" from the other message board.
Thousands went to it last year. I can't believe I can't come across more people from these message boards that attend. I guess those few thousand people don't participate on these sites. lol.

Let me rephrase, major NFL events. Unfortunately living overseas, our coverage of anything other than the pros is far from extensive, therefore I consume all things professionally based. Also, having read Rich Eisen's book, admittedly I did get a real flavour for witnessing firsthand the draft. Seeing your franchise's future unfold in front of your very eyes must be exhilarating, a true 'I was there when..' moment.
I commit the majority of my time following the NFL and of course my Vikes, as these are the best options in terms of accessibility.

How does the Draft Party work? I am really interested in going and am wondering what are the major differences with the VIP and General Admission?

Well, the VIP section is sort of fenced off from the "general admission" people. The VIP section has tables set up for those who are a part of it. There are also endless "snacks" and such. I think last year there were sloppy joes, brats, soft drinks, water, etc. So, you get a "meal" so to speak. Last year, as a part of the VIP group we also got two *free* autographs (Webb, Eller). Also, a free photo with our "guests" or "groups." The surprise guest appearance was AP--and the only people who could get close to him were the VIP people, because he remained on stage--behind the fence.
General admission--you can do everything but go behind the fenced off area--and there aren't many seats. Most people were walking, talking, and playing games from what I remember.
Essentially, the VIP costs a lot more and is a "little more fancy." lol You get a few more perks. With that being said, I was VIP and I was BARELY behind the fenced off area at all. I was too busy getting autographs, doing the locker room tour, visiting with other fans, and just walking around.
If you plan on going with a group--and you just want to sit and talk and such--VIP isn't a bad idea. But, if you plan on roaming the entire time and getting autographs, VIP isn't even necessary. I just got it again because that's what my group wanted to do. And since I got 12 autographs last year, I'm banking on a lot of the same people showing up--this way I don't have to be in line so much.
The Draft Party is a pretty cool little event. It's a much more exciting way to watch/experience the draft than simply watching at home!

When do you get off work? I think it's from like 4-10. It's not like you have to be there the whole time. I'm sure a lot of people will just come after work.

Why is that funny?

I wouldn't hate it. He was there last year, and I got his autograph. He seems like a cool guy.
