I'm like that character "Jimmy Two Times" in Goodfellas.

Don't forget, we have a plethora of picks this year and the Vikings have shown a willingness to move in both direction during a draft. I wouldn't be surprised if the that the Vikings are targeting early on are still there, we could potentially trade up for them.

That said, I'm hoping they take WR Justin Hunter in R2.
Bro...I'm with you on this. The more I look at that first round, the more I feel like there would only be 2 or 3 guys worth grabbing at WR at that point because its so deep that they can get someone like Rogers in the 2nd round all while getting very valuable defensive parts in the 1st. Either a LB/DT or LB/DB combo. One thing is for sure...One of those picks needs to be an LB.

No gasping here but character has an impact on the team. Concern about it has nothing to do with being a "halo wearing quasi-saint" (although that gave me a chuckle). High-character players are dependable and can become leaders on the team. They're beneficial on and off the field. Players with poor character can end up creating distractions, getting suspended, disrupting the locker room or being caught with a whizzinator. ;)

That said, I'm not against the Vikes taking a chance on Tyrann Mathieu but R2 is too early.

R2 is definitely too early for Tyrann Mathieu but the kid can play. Too bad he got so flaky and all. Still, this is a SEC corner that held his own against the best QBs and WRs in the country while he was playing for LSU. His wimpy 3 reps in the weight room during the combine didn't help at all and his character issues are going to hurt his draft standing. But I've watched this guy play football and he has the ability to be a dominant CB.

I wouldn't be disappointed at all if the Vikings took him. They'll have to introduce him to the weight room, though. :D

BTW, I read a report saying that the Pats are quietly interested in him. Just a rumor.

Great idea. Worked out so well with Moss and Percy and Dwight Smith and the Whizzinator.

This kid isn't just a character concern, he got kicked off a team. failed god only knows how many drug tests. But yeah it has no effect on me so let's hire some prostitute killing child murderering dog fighting drug dealers! And when they tear the locker room apart, or miss 4 games due to suspension, or just half #### it because of their scum bag personalities, well I'm not affected so hey, go club some seals on your off day! I'll be back here with my PBR back handing the wife and cheering for you come game day like a good fan!

Honey badger is round 3 at earliest. I saw this dude on NFL network getting interviewed and he doesn't seem like the brightest dude. Football talent seems high though

Being bright isnt always a sure thing for a NFL player....look at Ponder.

Ponder graduated in 2 1/2 years from FSU with a degree in finance. Yep, not too bright
I finally might have figured it out. Some of you naysayers and bashers are just damn right jealous. Here is a 24 year old man making millions of dollars a year, married to one of the hottest girls you could imagine, a starting QB in the NFL (one of only 32 human beings in the world), has his degree in finance, Has great cars, a great house, and then there are YOU guys

I agree that we should absolutely pass on him due to character concerns and that our current FO's philosophy regarding high-character guys is an important piece of our future success... but I don't know about the PBR (hipster beer by now, why not make it a Natty's light?) or back handing of the wifey just cuz you're ok with the Vikes considering low-character guys. I guess the hyperbole is due to the previous implications of "halo wearing quasi-saints".

I agree with the high-character philosophy and do not consider myself a saint by any means! I'd pass on Honey Badger.

Yeah I really like the idea of grabbing trufant and a LB with the two first rounders and waiting on a WR till the 2nd round. Of course it all depends on whos there when we pick but it does seem like the WR's available wouldn't quite be worthy of our first rounders. We have enough needs still where the BPA out of like 6 positions really makes sense - WR, LB, CB, S, G, DT. No need to force anything.

Although I wouldn't oppose this strategy, I'm still fond of the idea of giving up a first in exchange for Revis. Although recently injured, a player of his calibre is worth taking a fly on and we have been heavily linked.

As for the Honey Badger, although not the brightest bulb in the janitor's closest, from viewing game tape, he certainly seems to transform on the field. Definite signs of a football brain.

Depending on how the draft goes, I can even see them selecting a LB, CB and DT with the first 3 picks and then selecting a WR in the 3rd round. I think good receiving prospects like Aaron Dobson, Ryan Swope and Stedman Bailey could still be available there and if the Vikes want to roll the dice, Da'Rick Rogers will probably be available in the 3rd or 4th round too, although that gets back to character issues.
