That could be it! It may also depend on if a person is very visually-oriented and interested in color. I tend to pay a lot of attention to the latter so, for example, I always liked it when the Vikes would play those old Bucs because seeing the only purple team (back then) playing against the only team with that hue of orange made for an interesting, appealing color scheme on the field. My favorite combination of team uniforms is when the purple, gold and white Vikes play the red, yellow and white Chiefs. The colors look great!

Of course, it's a lot better if the Vikes actually win the game too. :)
Agreed! Hopefully, that's the direction they'll go...
Those are both awesome blends and obviously make distinguishing between teams a complete moot point. With others coming out of the woodwork in favour of the Bucs retro jerseys, I swear we could create a fan group or at least a strong spirited petition to have them brought back permanently.

Yeah for sure, hopefully the winning trend will continue, no matter what the jersey is.

As for the Randy Moss circus catch photo, I have that moment captured by way of a Mcfarlane figure. Adored for the quality jersey alone!

I loved our old jerseys with the norseman on the sleeves. I kinda hope we go back to those in a way. I would not be upset if we go to the throwbacks either.

In a semi-related note. I picked up a 1978 Purple Authentic Paul Krause jersey the other day at Mitchell & Ness. They were having a Super Bowl sale and I got it for like 75% off.
It's mine and i want it back.

Plus there was really no one I wanted other than maybe Harvin and I said "ya know what I'll wait til his contract is settled before I get him."

I did order a Kalil back December cause it was in the bargain bin, but hours later the rumors of new unis leaked so I canceled it.
Should have kept it, then it would have been his authentic rookie season pro bowl debut jersey

Side by side of the "enhanced" logo here. I'm on my phone so i can't embed right now.

It's cool but i'm nostalgic/biased towards the original.

I also feel like I have to go buy the updated gear now on top of the new jerseys.
Subtle changes, but good ones. At least nothing that made the logo worse.

Thanks for the share. But as I was comparing the two, I wondered, what's the story behind the original design? Who and how designed it?

Here's the side-by-side comparison and a list of changes from the Vikings site:
Image
So what’s different?
There are really five subtle enhancements to the Norseman:
1) Horn Shape
The shape of the horns has been adjusted and the shading in the horns has changed.

2) Horn Base
The base of the horn now resembles the horn on the players’ helmets.

3) Face Detail
Thicker lines have been added to the mustache and face.

4) Vikings Gold
The Vikings Gold is now brighter and less brassy.

5) The Braid
The braid has been shortened, resulting in a reduced logo height.
I think the bolder use of line in the face, dropping the shading in the horn and the shift in color from a warmer yellow to one that more closely matches the color on the Vikings uniforms all work well. I understand why they shortened the braid but in doing so, the emblem loses a bit of it's distinctive shape, especially because the designer lengthened the shape of the hair as it flows into the braid and created an upward curve to the base of the hair in back. Those two changes have eliminated the half-circle arc at the bottom left of the original emblem.

I actually preferred the lighter line weight on the hair in the back too. The bolder lines coming out from the base of the horn in the new logo seem a bit heavy-handed in comparison.

Overall, it's not a drastic change and I'm fine with it. They modified it but thankfully, they didn't #### it up. :)

I'd like to know who designed the original Norseman logo too but I've never been able to find out.

A minor change that is quickly becoming mandatory in the modern era, both the Lions and Jaguars have changed in recent years. I don't have a real problem and particularly like the base of the horns being brought into line with what is displayed on our helmets.

Hopefully the alterations will coincide with an even brighter future, in terms of on field success and a newly formed home filed advatange when the Vikes move.

Throwbacks, please. Never have liked the arena styled unis they came up with.

Glad they didn't do any damage to the Norseman, tho ... But you can tell they are keeping the new horn on the helmets since the horn on the Norseman logo has been changed to match up with the current helmet logo.

This sounds like a direct correspondence with head office is called for ;~)

Leaked NFL uniforms?

Some of these are pretty cool. Some, not so much. What do you think if this was ours?

I'm not fond of that gold/yellow color and its abundance.
